Any time a Champion displeases his Patron he gains Penance. If he reaches ten points of Penance his Patron can decide to do something about it at any time. His Patron can take away his blessings, wrack him with pain, curse him or what ever the Patron feel is necessary to teach the Champion the error of is ways.
