Commitment: None
Attunement: NObsidianBladeOfTheNightsEdge/A

The Obsidian Blade of the Night's Edge was forged by a first age Night-caste smith. Using sorcery, he shaped the flows of a volcano into the paths and forms he desired, forming several of these razor-sharp blades. He then took and enchanted them with powerful sorcery, ensuring that they keep their edge and do not break. The Obsidian Blades were not enchanted further, because the Night wanted these to be weapons of assassination; and as such, he designed them to not have any active essence flows.

Obsidian Blades of the Night's Edge do not require any commitment of motes or any attunement; a mortal can pick one up and use it just as easily as any other being. Because of this lack of commitment, Obsidian Blades do not register to effects such All-Encompassing Sorcerer's Sight as magical. While the blades are seeable to the normal sight, their thinness and coloration make them easily hideable; anyone trying to spot or find an Obsidian Blade hidden on someone has to do so at a base difficulty of +2.

The enchantments on Obsidian Blades render them nearly as hard as the Five Magical Materials, and they only take damage from sources that would damage the Five Magical Materials as well. Finally, the incredible sharpness of the Obsidian Blades means that they will always do at least some damage, should they hit. Whenever someone hits with an Obsidian Blade, they will always do at least one level of lethal damage. This is subtracted from their minimum damage roll.
