By Thinker

Ravenous Kraken Form
Cost: 5 motes
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Min. Martial Arts: 4
Min. Essence: 2
Prereqs: Rough Hide Stance, Encoiling Attack

The Exalt performs the Kata of the Ravenous Kraken planting their feet and calling forth the Essence from within. Ten translucent tendrils of dark Essence erupt around the Martial Artist towering above and around them like the tentacles of the Kraken itself. These tendrils are only partially solid, and attacks pass through them, unless the Martial Artist is actively using one, then it is as solid as flesh for the space of a single attack. The tendrils are weapons with the following characteristics Acc +2, Dmg +3L, Spd +0, Def +1. The tendrils have a reach of 10 yards and can attack and parry out to that range, they can parry Lethal damage without a stunt. The tendrils do not give the Martial Artist any additional actions, and they must split their dice pool and use their dice pools as normal. If the character performs a clinch with one of the tendrils they may maintain the hold reflexively with the Tendril without taking an action or impairing their mobility, for as long as the clinch remains unbroken and they stay within 10 yards of the target. The Kraken Form also allows the character to soak Lethal damage with their full bashing soak.

A character may only use a single Martial Arts Form- Type Charm at a time.

Spraying Ink Attack
Cost: 4 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Min. Martial Arts: 4
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Ravenous Kraken Form

Casting their hand forth in a wave of black Essence the character attempts to blind one of their foes. They roll Dexterity + Martial Arts in an opposed roll against their targets Wits + Resistance. If they score even a single net success their opponent is blinded for the rest of the scene by a sheath of black Essence clinging to their eyes. They suffer all the normal penalties of blindness and in addition to that the Kraken Style Practitioners attacks are drawn to their Essence upon the target allowing them to add a number of bonus dice to any attack equal to their Essence score.

Crushing Tentacle Blow
Cost: 5 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Spraying Ink Attack

Attempting to crush their foes with the strength of a massive blow, this Charm can be used either in a clinch or with a regular Martial Arts attack. It allows the character to add their strength in dice to the damage of a single attack after soak has been applied.

Unstoppable Resistance Practice
Cost: 1 mote per 2B
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 2
Prereqs: Ravenous Kraken Form

Extending their ability to absorb damage the Ravenous Kraken Practitioner makes themselves all but invulnerable to damage. Each mote invested in this Charm adds 2 to the characters bashing soak for the rest of the scene. It stacks with Rough Hide Stance, but the Martial Artist may spend no more motes empowering this Charm than they have Martial Arts, and cannot be under its effects more than once at a time.

Dark Ocean Defense
Cost: 5 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Unstoppable Resistance Practice

Momentarily transforming their flesh and bone into waters from the depths of the empty oceans of the underworld, the character’s skin absorbs a single blow like the water it contains. For a single attack the character may double their soak and ignore any attack that does less raw damage than their soak completely.

Tendrine Mastery
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Simple
Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Unstoppable Resistance Practice, Kraken Ink Attack

Learning to extend their ability to emulate the prowess of the great Kraken the Martial Artist extends the power of the Ravenous Kraken Form. Once this Charm is learned the Martial Artist may spend a single mote to take an action using one of the tendrils provided by Ravenous Kraken Form. This action can be reflexive (for a parry) or used after the characters initiative for an attack. It does not count as Charm usage.

Ship Sinking Attack
Cost: 3 motes per attack, 1 willpower
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 4
Prereqs: Dark Ocean Defense, Crushing Tentacle Attack, Tendrine Mastery

The mighty Kraken will curl its limbs around even the greatest of ships upon the oceans of the underworld and attempt to crush them with the sheer amount of force it can exert. Using this Charm the character attempts to emulate this practice. They make multiple Martial Arts attacks (either by splitting their dice pool or using a Charm that allows multiple attacks in a combo with this one.) and pay a supplemental cost of 3 motes on each attack. All the attacks are resolved without soak being applied, then finally all the raw damage is added together and applied as a single attack.
