Immaculate Balance Technique

The first level of Crane Style, this charm emulates the balance that a crane is well known for. The character charges their essence with the speed and grace of a flying Crane. For the duration of the scene the character has incredible balance that is often essential to this style of martial arts. The character is able to add their essence score to any dexterity dice rolls that involve balance or quick movement. such as jumping or quick sprints.


Striking Beak Attack</b>

This is the second level of Crane Style. The crane is known for it's ability to fish, striking its beak out to catch fish or other food. In this way the character will also harness the speed and accuracy of a single strike, either with his hands in the shape of a beak or with a carried spear. The character charges their essence and uses one of the above forms of attacks to deliver devestating damage. The attack does lethal damage, even if the character doesn't carry a staff or spear. If the character does have one of the mentioned weapons they add their permanent essence to the base damage of the attack.


Crane Form</b>

The character adopts the stance of a crane defending itself, arms spread with feet moving and ready to bob out of the way. While in this form the character is able to add their martial arts score to all parry and dodge attempts. The character also gains two attacks per round, but the second attack has to be used to parry or dodge an incoming attack. That or the second attack must be used to throw an opponent. The martial arts attack in this form always does lethal damage, with our without a weapon. This form is not compatible with armor.


Crane Claw Strike</b>

Prereqs: Crane Form 

Crane style martial arts rely on precious few actual hand attacks, one of them being shaping the hand as though it were shaped as a Crane's Claw. With this attack the character charges their essence and shapes their hand as such, with claws growing from the fingers and striking at the target. The attack does lethal damage regardless if there are any weapons involved. If the character is wearing Scissors Katars or any other weapon that would lend itself to such an attack the permanent essence of the character is added to the raw damage of the attack.


Great Wing Blocking Technique</b>

Prereqs: Crane Form 

Crane style is well known for it's blocking and for it's defensive aspect. By charging their essence the character is able to add their permanent essence score to all parry and blocking attempts. The character moves their arms in such a way that they are able to fend off incoming attacks, even thoughs from weapons and arrows. They area also able to use their full melee plus dexterity scores or marital arts plus dexterity scores for the purpose of parrying or blocking.


Fluid Wing Stance</b>

Prereqs: Great Wing Blocking Technique 

Crane Style is well known for it's lead into strong blocks that can build to a counter attack. With this charm the character has the choice of attacking and gaining no benefit or using their turn to defend. If they defend the character adds their permanent essence to all parry or dodge attempts and then is able to attack. If the first parry or dodge fails the second attack is still able to go through, but damage is resolved simultaneously. This charm is incompatible with armor. This charm can not be used to counter any other counter attack charms.


Floating Feather Movement</b>

Min. Essence: 2 
Prereqs: Crane Form 

The crane is known for being able to fly, as is the user of this charm. For the remainder of the scene this charm is activated the character is able to float for ten meters plus ten extra meters per point of permanent essence. This counts for moving in an upward, forward, backward, or downward direction. If falling down the character floats as if a feather for the distance allowed.


Floating Bird Movement</b>

Type: Simple 
Min. Martial Arts: 5 
Min. Essence: 1 
Prereqs: Floating Feather Movement 

With an even stronger understanding of how to move the character is able to charge their essence and move as though a bird flying over a surface. The character is able to move over surfaces, glass, water, walls, ceilings, as though they were normal ground. The character never actually touches the surface, but more floats over them. The speed they can move is equal to 10 meters/second plus an additional 5 meters/second per point of permanent essence.
