Rounding out the bunch will be the leader, who I currently think is an outcaste DB, but may end up being something else (maybe even a normal mortal!). He may or may not be in the enviable position of having both Gray and the lioness lady as lovers. Needs a name.

A Circle of God-Blooded

I was thinking about God-Blooded a while ago, and this motley crew popped out.

This had its genesis in late June 2003.

I wanna make a Circle composed of God-Blooded. I'm not sure how to make it work. One idea was that their leader was a Zorro-like DB from Grey Falls. Another was that they're pirates in the West. Yet another is that they all live in Great Forks and do... something. Scavenging? I like the chivalrous outlaws idea best. I think the piracy idea lends itself best to that.

Gray is a half-Abyssal. Actually a pretty positive lady, if you can get past her dour demeanor and wide streak of gallows humor. Looks like a (fresh) corpse, has only very weak powers.

Leona is the daughter of a Lion Dog, or possibly just some kind of generic lion spirit. Looks leonine; mane of golden hair, unusually-colored eyes, maybe pointy teeth. Very attractive, but has some personality issues (too much Valor, not enough Temperance or Compassion).

Insert Name Here is the offspring of some kind of elemental. (Water has an obvious schtick if going w/ pirate idea...) Might be a selkie, whose only special power is the ability to turn into a seal.

Insert Name Here is the offspring of a demon. (possibly that one from the adventure in ToT?) No idea at all on this one; only in the list for completeness' sake.

Rounding out the bunch will be the leader, who I currently think is an outcaste DB, but may end up being something else (maybe even a normal mortal!). He may or may not be in the enviable position of having both Gray and the lioness lady as lovers. Needs a name.

12/3

They aren't pirates, they're legitimate merchants. They operate in the west.

The Dragon-Blooded's name is Jun Chan for now. He is definitely married to both Gray and Leona. Although he's outgoing and charismatic, it's patently obvious to anyone who bothers to look that Gray is the one wearing the pants in this particular relationship; she keeps the books basically does everything besides motivate the crew and schmooze with clients. On her home island, where she is moderately famous, her husband is known to everyone (somewhat to his chagrin) as "Gray's boy."

I definitely don't see Chan as a Water or Earth Aspect; he's probably Wood or Fire. Today I'm leaning toward Wood, for no particular reason, but the other day I was thinking Fire. Could go either way.

Gray is not a big fan of Chan having any wives who aren't her. However, she's also sterile (unsurprising, given her ancestry), and recognizes the need for heirs.

Leona, on the other hand, thinks like a lioness. To her, it would be incredibly bizarre if Chan didn't have a whole harem. She actually feels threatened whenever any of his female subordinates have obvious relationships with men besides him; if he were the leader of a pride, such behavior would mean that other males were gearing up to challenge him. This mindset amuses Chan and aggravates Gray. However, neither of them can find much fault in Leona's intense dedication to both of them. She may or may not have already borne Chan a child.

Still no great ideas for the elemental- and demon-spawn.
