Fire HearthStones

These are the Stones of Fire that burn like lava. The most common forms of Fire stones are obsidian, ruby and other blood-red gems as well as cooled lava. The powers of Fire extend to all forms of heat and passion.

Level 1

Neverchill Gem

 Manse •
 Trigger: Squeezing

This tiny red pebble is about the size of a robin's egg and looks to be nothing more then a simple red-hued river stone. When the owner is cold he may squeeze the stone in one fist and until it is squeezed again it will keep him warm and comfortable for as long as it remains in contact with his body. The Neverchill Gem glows faintly, but not enough to provide usable illumination in most circumstances.

Pandemonium Pearl

 Manse •
 Trigger: Yelling

A shining red-swirled pearl the size of a hummingbird's egg, the Pandemonium Pearl is often set in chokers or necklaces. Often favored by petite, attractive females, this Stone offers both warning and information. When the bearer is under attack, they may choose to scream out between 1 and 7 words to describe their plight. These words are understood by everyone who can hear them no matter what language they are spoken in and may contain information the screamer would not normally know. The volume of the scream is increased by a factor of 10 from the normal screaming capacity of the screamer.

Example:
Princess Daides is suddenly beset by the Kukla. She, being terribly ignorant (Intelligence 1, Occult 0, Lore 0) has no idea what the Kukla is. But, because she bears the Pandemonium Pearl her screams of terror are not worthless "AAAAAAHHHH!!!"s, but rather somewhat informative "KUUUUUKKKKKLLLAAAA!"s.

Level 2

Unflaggable Courage Heart

 Manse ••
 Trigger: Being wounded

When the owner of the Heart is wounded in battle the stone glows ruby red and flushes firey power into it's master's body. The Heart lets its owner ignore as many Health Levels of wound penalties as he has dots of Valor. The Unflaggable Courage Heart is a small, ruddy oblong of opaque stone.

Level 3

Level 4

Wyld Fire Gem

 Manse ••••
 Trigger: Magical creation of flame

Whenever a character holding this opalescent teardrop uses a magical power to create fire he may decide to have that flame manifest as a variety of Wyld Fire found in the Deep South. These colored flames will burn only certain things, depending on their color. A full listing of effects can be found in EtFF on page 36. The Wyld Fire Gem cannot create Gold Fire. A shortened list is below.

  • Red - Wood and Flesh
  • Yellow - Plants
  • Black - Dead Things
  • Green - Metal
  • Blue - Stone
  • White - Living Things

Level 5

Burning Infant Stone

 Manse •••••
 Trigger: Sex

A cylinder of purple-red stone that is slightly flexible, this Hearthstone infects its user with a harmless disease that is transmitted by sexual contact. Any person that the bearer of this Stone has intercourse with becomes infected with the disease. Infection guarantees conception for the next act of sexual intimacy that the partner indulges in. Any child born of an infected parent becomes a Fire Elemental-Blooded with Inheritance 3. The infection and conception are perfect effects, unless the user wishes to suspend them. Suspension of the Stone's effects costs 1 willpower per effect (infection and conception are two separate effects). The owner of this Hearthstone is able to locate any Elemental-Blooded born of the disease by spending 5 motes and succeeding on a Perception + Occult roll.
