<b>Notes:</b> <i>Tireless Warden of the Exterior</i> is literally the first Champion ever constructed by the city of Xexas. His primary role at this point is the repulsion of gremlin excursions from the Elemental Pole of Smoke. He does not stray very far at all from the city, as he lacks the Charms to endure the Pole's environment for long, and is not quite a match for larger mobs of gremlins. His Clarity is intermediate, as his extensive body modifications largely confine him to his hangar and make normal human interaction somewhat awkward. His Manifold Transhuman Implants have given him a chassis roughly comparable to a contemporary fighter jet, with soulsteel articulated plate sized to fit. His Enhanced Senses, Optical Enhancements and Secondary Sensory upgrades take the form of a large ring of insectoid lenses circling his raptor-like head, and an antenna assembly reminiscent of bat ears. His face is totally obscured from the mouth up, and for all his size, the amount of his slate-grey skin that is visible could not upholster a chair. Needless to say, his appearance is more than somewhat intimidating.

As far as personality goes, he is a fundamentally cheerful individual, with a genuine love of exploration and flight. His loneliness makes him chatty, but he is not a creature of words by nature. He is a golem of letters, and his obscure expositions on some point of classical literature or contemporary philosophy have led more than a few of his Populat ground crew to think him a little mad as they fail to keep pace with his musings. That said, he will likely maintain a positive Intimacy best described as "puppylike need for attention" towards at least one shift of his hangar workers. He is lonely, and in the quiet hours of his sleep-shifts, when his hangar lights are down and the only illumination is the crackle of lightning through the city's spires, he feels a deep and abiding fear that this present state is all his life will be for all its long centuries.

<b>Notes:</b> <i>Tireless Warden</i>'s dot of Linguistics grants him fluency in Old Realm, to facilitate conversation with the machine-spirits he encounters in the course of his duties. The Dissonance-Detecting Microantennae submodule for his Secondary Sensory Upgrades allows him to detect the presence of creatures of the Void within (Perceptionx100) yards with a reflexive (Perception+Awareness+creature's Essence) roll, as their malformed Essence signatures set off discordant vibrations in the Design of Autochthon. He can detect number, distance, and general direction, but nothing more specific than that. The submodule takes the form of two beds of small adamant sensor spines at the base of his neck, on either side of the spine. When a creature of the Void is present, its presence registers as a sensation of "raised hackles," in a very literal sense; the spines will rise to an erect position, tugging on the nerves tied to their bases. It does not function when his Clarity is less than 3.<br>
 +
At this point, Tireless' Clarity hovers around 7-8. He spends almost every waking hour on patrol, returning only for intravenous nutrient slurry feeds and sleep cycles. He probably hasn't had a real conversation in years. He regularly ranges to the very edge of Xexas territory, fighting ever-larger groups of gremlins just to keep the skies clear. His sense of neatness won't allow him to pursue the exploration he so loves while gremlins still clog the Pole, so he hardly does any exploring unless he's chasing gremlins. Although his handlers hear nothing of it, the swarms he fights grow larger and larger, and he has to fly less and less far out to find them.<br>
 +
<i>Tireless</i>'s interactions with the machine-spirits he supposedly protects are somewhat chilly. While he is a fearsome enemy of the gremlin swarms, the machine-spirits are wary of him for two reasons: First, he makes no secret that he is watching them for signs of gremlinization, and second, his assembly-mate <i>Churning Electric Orator</i> has been using him as the "strong" part of his strong-arm negotiation tactics with the local spirit courts. This has led to him receiving much less assistance in his efforts from local warrior-spirits than he probably should. The only exceptions to this are the schools of air-purification biomechanoids, whale-like dirigibles that process and purify the atmosphere of the Pole for piping back up into the rest of the Great Maker. They think he's sexy.

Notes: Tireless Warden of the Exterior is literally the first Champion ever constructed by the city of Xexas.

He is lonely, and in the quiet hours of his sleep-shifts, when his hangar lights are down and the only illumination is the crackle of lightning through the city's spires, he feels a deep and abiding fear that this present state is all his life will be for all its long centuries.

Notes: Tireless Warden's dot of Linguistics grants him fluency in Old Realm, to facilitate conversation with the machine-spirits he encounters in the course of his duties. It does not function when his Clarity is less than 3.
Although his handlers hear nothing of it, the swarms he fights grow larger and larger, and he has to fly less and less far out to find them.
Tireless's interactions with the machine-spirits he supposedly protects are somewhat chilly. While he is a fearsome enemy of the gremlin swarms, the machine-spirits are wary of him for two reasons: First, he makes no secret that he is watching them for signs of gremlinization, and second, his assembly-mate Churning Electric Orator has been using him as the "strong" part of his strong-arm negotiation tactics with the local spirit courts.
