Gateway Fork

A plain looking tuning fork, made of starmetal. When tapped against a doorway and 8 motes spent the character can roll her Essence + Occult at standard difficulty. Success means that the Calibration Gate opens there. Failure means it does not and the fork may not be used again that day. This method is often preferred over sorcery since it does not create the great magical flare up that one gets with such spells.
