Bows can use either Fowling, Frog Crotch, or Standard arrows. Fowling arrows deal Bashing damage instead of lethal. Frog Crotch add +2L, but remove the P tag from the Longbow and double armor soak for the shortbow. Standard arrows use the listed stats.

General Rules

Most weapons have notably lower damage totals than those in the Exalted Second Edition rulebook. This allows Strength to be more important for the purposes of dealing damage. Weapons use the Speed, Accuracy, Damage, Defense, Rate, and Range listings from Exalted Second Edition, each of which functions as listed in the rules. In addition, all weapons have an Overwhelm rate. Most mundane weapons have Overwhelm 1. Some powerful weapons have Overwhelm 2, or even 3.

Exceptional weapons gain two +1 bonuses. These may be placed in two of Accuracy, Damage, Defense, Rate, or Range (adding +5 yards for a Fire weapon, +10 yards for a thrown weapon or +25 yards for an archery weapon), or may both be placed into Speed to reduce Speed by 1.

Perfect weapons gain three +1 bonuses, which apply in the same manner as Exceptional bonuses - two of the three must be spent to reduce Speed.

Artifact weapons gain +1 to four categories, which apply as Exceptional bonuses, are indestructable and add a Magical Material bonus as listed in the Artifact sections. The four +1 bonuses are already factored into artifact equipment.

Tags

Most weapon tags are the same as in the Exalted Second Edition rulebook. There are two modifications:

The 'D' tag removes the -2 internal penalty for disarm attempts with that weapon.

The 'E' tag refers to Martial Arts weapons that cannot be used with Melee; these are enhancements to natural attacks.

The 'O' tag is removed.
