Evocations

Rule-Ending Thesis

Spend 1 mote on step 1. A successful Decisive attack cuts away a foe's influence. Anyone you wound using this charm has a 2 dice penalty to any War, Embassy, or Presence roles they make equal for the rest of the scene.

Resonant: The dice penalty is equal to your Essence+2 to a maximum of 5, and lasts until those wounds are healed.

Loyalty-Cutting Argument

Prerequisites: Rule-Ending Thesis, Presence 4, a successful use of Rule-Ending Thesis.

Whenever you deal damage to an enemy that qualifies for this artifact’s attunement effect, spend 1 mote and roll Force+Presence, benefiting from any charms that affect Intimidation rolls, against the Resolve of anyone that can see you who serves the enemy you damaged. On a successful roll, they gain a -1 success penalty to all actions that would aid the subject of your Intimacy.

Resonant: This penalty stacks to a maximum equal to your Essence.

Everything Dies Conclusion

Prerequisites: Loyalty-Cutting Argument, kill an Exalt with an Essence rating equal to or greater than yours who commanded a following or army.

Spend 3 motes on Step 6 against someone who is the target of this artifact's attunement effect. Any damage you deal with this attack is spread to all characters with a positive Intimacy representing their willing service to the target (or similiar) unless they shed that Intimacy (which they may do so reflexively, for free). Characters whose Virtue is Loyalty to the target may shift the subject of their Loyalty (such as from the King to the ideals of the nation). Otherwise loyal servants who do not have an applicable Intimacy toward the target, may accept a negative Minor Initimacy toward them instead.

If the target dies from this attack, all who willingly served him suffer damage equal to the strength of the Intimacy held toward the target. This kills Trivial characters who do not renounce their loyalty.

Those who unwillingly serve him have any bonds to the target, magical or otherwise, severed, and they know instantly that the target has died. Intimacies shed by this Charm cannot be rebuilt for one year, and require significant effort to reestablish even then (such as spending a Personal Milestone for a PC, or a successful Venture for NPCs). In exceptional cases (such as for an Intimacy protected by Righteous Lion Defense), Significant characters may take a Hard Bargain in place of shedding their positive Intimacies or taking damage.

Resonant: You ignore Soak equal to your Essence (Max: 5) on the damage roll.
