Withering Wind Monologue</b>

Min. Lore: 1

All Air Aspects know that the wind can often be confusing and irritating; blowing in random directions, carrying bits of other peoples conversations, mixing up papers and ruffling clothes. This Charm allows them to emulate the wind in such a fashion, endlessly spouting forth a stream of pointless information and complex technical terms. This can be quite useful for gaining access to guarded vaults of knowledge, since with only a vague idea of what the vault contains, the Exalt can persuade any guards present to allow them access. Since they obviously display such overwhelmingly detailed knowledge, they simply must be a researcher or librarian of some kind.

The Exalt rolls Manipulation+Linguistics at a difficulty of the target’s Temperance, and must speak continuously for their Temperance in minutes, as only the most patient and even-minded individuals can listen to them for long (at least, without falling asleep). Each success on this roll lowers the target’s Temperance by one for the rest of the scene. After this period, the target rolls Temperance; if they fail, the Exalt has bored them enough with his droning speech that they allow him access, or give him whatever it is he wanted. The target remains irritable and short-tempered after being affected by this Charm, which is often a way of identifying its use.

Comments

This so needs tweaking. - LeumasWhite

I might ann a Willpower to the base cost: it has the dual effect of getting what you want and messing up your target's attitude. Otherwise, it looks good to me. - willows

Works for me. I was considering that, but wasn't sure if it was worth the cost. - LeumasWhite
