Logatha, Spinner-Lord of the Black Shadow

The Spider Queen has never been entirely confined to the Malfean realm. Even in her banishing, Logatha touches the dreams of mortal creatures from afar, and her children... the eight-legged insects of Creation... serve her whims. When Logatha is summoned to the mortal realm, the land aches for her presence. Insects of all varieties die in abundance, birds fall from the sky, lakes and rivers are tainted with fetid blood and rain is stained black with soot and bone fragments.

Some savants claim that Logatha desires nothing less than the total destruction of Creation. These wise men claim that the strangely symmetrical webs her children weave are actually complicated occult symbols, placed in accordance with her desire to bring about this dread purpose. Other sorcerers dismiss this as pure nonsense, noting that many scholars who make this observation are known to go utterly mad shortly thereafter... consumed with a fanatical desire to rend the webs of spiderkind above all other purposes.

Logatha has two forms. The first is that of a lovely woman of roughly fourty years of age, with hollow eyes and long black hair. Though the Demon seems frail, her hair can animate to entangle and strangulate those who displease her. Those who try to escape find that the substance is sticky and binding, as well as highly toxic. Some who are so captured do not struggle, as lore holds that a being smothered by the hair of Logatha is reborn... as one of her undying servants, the Anuhles.

The second form of Logatha is unknown to history, as those who have seen it are forced into madness or killed shortly thereafter. Some Sorcerers have escavated passages from the first age that speak of Logatha being some great creature of nearly a hundred yards in height, used to destroy cities when the secret of summoning such entitities was still widely enough known to facilitate conversation about what they were 'meant to do'.

In truth, the second form of Logatha is that of a massive spider, stretching a dozens of yards high. Newborn Anuhles, not yet strong nor large enough to brave the world of Malfeas or Creation, scurry around her body providing unintentional protection. Those captured by Logatha who have enough essence to feed her young are wrapped carefully in her silk, so that a new generation of demonic young might be created. Without a being of Essence of 3 or Greater, Logatha cannot reproduce, but a single such specimin can birth thousands of her Anuhles. A being with essence two can birth nearly a hundred, and even a human with a single point can birth one single Anuhles... though the creature is invariably feeble and smallminded, so Logatha rarely comprimises.

Logatha cherishes her young above all other things - to kill one of her children is to earn her emnity for eternity. If she discovers such a transgression, spiders will forever hiss in the presence of the killer and will bite with lethal intention if allowed the opportunity. The only method of reversing this curse is mollification to Logatha, in the form of a sacrifice which fits her selective criteria for a new 'father'.

A being who suffers more than 1/2 her total health levels in damage to a single Nightmare Spear will be impaled upon the ground and considered clinched. Logatha may continue to 'clinch' such a victim without penalty to actions.

Beings who close to melee range with Logatha are invariably attacked by a infantile Anuhle. These tiny beings roll only five dice to attack, attempting to land upon the victim while remaining tethered to mother. They can endure only two health levels of damage before being destroyed and have no soak. The venom of the Anuhle can have the following effects... roll one ten sided die and reference this table.
