The marketplace of Solace is rather interesting; the majority of it is open-air, but there seems to be a 'premium' area built within the high wall surrounding the market itself; inside are some of the more upper-crust items, and things that most people would not buy; drugs, exotic spices, expensive items, and even a firewand dealer. Most common folk, in the Age of Sorrows, aren't even *worth* as much as some of the things here...
... but an Exalt, especially one of the five who bear the mark of the Sun Invincible, are worth as much as they make themselves to be. But... they still have to stall-shop. The jade's back on the island.
Dyna is browsing... and rather shamelessly rubbernecking at all the fascinating things for sale. Breon isn't at her side, as this would likely cause problems... but he's probably not too far off, anyway.
Rio is looking through the wares of a fine-weapon salesman. Her sword is in her back, as usual, but she's back in her captain outfit and out of her armor.
Dyna has Wizard's Warth wrapped in cloth and lashed to her backpack, where her other staff once resided. She meanders over in Rio's general direction by pure coincidence...
Rio gazes at a particular dagger for a few moments before turning away... and blinking as she recognizes Dyna. Then, she grins. "Ah, Dyna!"
<Dyna> ... ah? Oh, hey! I didn't see you there Rio!
Dyna smiles cheerfully and walks over to Rio's side. "Shopping?"
<Rio> Aah, just gazing over some things... there are some nice weapons here... a tad expensive though.
Dyna> They are... I was just curious as to what all they had.
Rio whispers. "With what this guy wants for that dagger there, I could buy supplies for my ship for a week"
Dyna looks at the dagger, then smirks at Rio whispering back "Maybe it's the best dagger _ever_."
Rio pokes her tongue out. "Nah."
Dyna smiles a bit, crossing her arms and looking across the market to the other stalls... "So, a lot to take in for just one trip, huh?"
Rio steps out of the stall, and shrugs. "Well, it was pretty and all, but I don't need a dagger to be pretty... I need daggers to do things when I need them to do things."
<Dyna> ... give me enough time and I might be able to help you out with that.
<Rio> ... ooh?
Dyna nods, and puts a finger to her lips.
Rio pauses... and then puts an arm around Dyna's neck and half leads her away down the stalls, leaning in a bit. "Aw, come on, tell me?"
Dyna gets dragged along by the much larger, stronger woman. "Gah! Okay, okay...!"
<Dyna> You know how it's like like we're remembering these things from... back then, right?
<Rio> Yeeees?
<Dyna> It's kind of nebulous, right now. However, I think if I work at it... I could jog the right memory.
<Rio> ... to do what?
<Dyna> To make stuff like... these.
Dyna points to her staff and Rio's sword.
<Rio> ... ooooh ^^
<Rio> Hmm... but you don't look like much of a... smith, to be honest ^^;
<Dyna> I don't think I need to.
<Rio> Well, you might... I mean, these things don't get built out of scratch, don't they?
<Dyna> No, but you never know what you'll find.
<Rio> Well, I guess a smith alone couldn't make those either... anyway! Have you seen something you like?
<Dyna> Yes, but those firewands are so expensive... I'd just love to get my hands on one, just to see what I could learn.
<Rio> ... aah, firewands... I haven't seen them get a lot, but I hear they can be pretty nasty.
<Dyna> Yes, and I suppose one might just come in handy.
<Rio> Heh, I'll let you know when I get a firedust cannon for my ship ¬_¬
<Dyna> ... you'd really let me?
<Rio> ... well, as long as you promised not to break it
<Dyna> Well, okay! And I promise that if I break it anyway, I'll fix it.
<Rio> Heh! ... well, truth be told, I have no idea if I can even get a firedust cannon. I think it couldn't hurt though.
<Dyna> I think... we can do a lot of things. If not now, later.
<Rio> ... I know, yeah... I do wanna go back there, I have a lot of questions, and... have you ever seen a First Age ship?
Dyna lowers her voice considerably. "... no."
<Rio> I have! Once, in a port near the Blessed Isle... it was glorious, but I think that it showed its age a bit, but... can you believe it? I... he... had one of those...
Dyna nods... "I'd like to see one, sometime."
<Rio> ... I wonder if mine is still out there ^^
Dyna whispers into Rio's ear. "Are you sure it's okay to talk about that in public?"
<Rio> I hear there's no safer place than a crowd to speak of things like that. The noise makes most people not care ^_^
<Dyna> Well, I guess you're right...
Dyna looks at Rio's arm around her shoulder. "... you can let me go, now."
<Rio> ... oh!
Rio removes her arm and blushes a bit, scratching the back of her head. "Sorry ^^;"
<Dyna> It's okay, really... but Breon might've gotten mad if he saw it.
<Rio> ... why?
<Dyna> He's just a little overprotective.
<Rio> So? :/
<Dyna> He's just like that, sometimes. He's just trying to protect me.
<Rio> Bah, I wouldn't hurt you ^^
<Dyna> Well, I know. It's like he thinks he's my mother or something, sometimes. :P
<Rio> ... that'd be complicated o_o
<Rio> ... anyway! Could I invite you to a drink? :D
<Dyna> Well, okay... just one.
<Rio> Good! What kind do you like? ^^
<Dyna> I like a good red wine... you?
<Rio> I'll try anything at least once... and I think I saw a nice place deeper in the town. Come on! ^^
