Healing an Army

Healing an army has a lot in common with Recruiting and Training an Army- after all, they both rely on finding troops willing to fight and die for you.

Damage to an army is repaired exactly as though the Army is being built for the first time- half the damage (round up) is Recruited, the other half is Basic Training.

However, there is one notibly important difference. Training. It's consideribly harder to replace well trained troops than conscripts.

Add an Army's total Trained bonus to both the number of months between Recruitment checks and the difficulty of such checks. The exception is for Dragonblooded troops- although it's still very hard to find Terrestrial Exalted well trained enough to replace the fallen, the Dragonblooded are common enough that it only takes half the time and is half as hard to find such worthies, although it's always at least +1 harder than replaceing mortals.

Example: The Deadly Viper Gang suffers a casualty in a border skirmish, losing 2 HLs. One level must be recruited, and then trained to work in the Army. Going back to the Blessed Isle to find such a worthy, the base difficulty of the Charisma+Performance check would be 1, with checks possible every month. Since the Deadly Viper Gang has a total bonus of +9, that would normally mean 10 month Recruitment Periods at Difficulty 10- a virtually impossible task. However, the Dragonblooded are simply everywhere, and finding one powerful enough to replace the fallen is a far easier task- it will take 5 months between recruitment periods, and be a difficulty 5.
