The era of the Shogunate was an unproductive one for the Lunar host. Contending against not one but two groups of Exalted it was hard for them to do much but lurk on the edges and in the wyld waiting for the world to change and move back in. Not all of the Stewards were so willing to remain at the edges though. Some burned with rage at the insult and betrayel of the Sidereals and the Dragonblooded. One such Lunar took matters into her hands. One of the older Lunars she possessed great pull amongst her own kind and many favors still amongst the Elementals and Gods of Yu-Shan. Loathe to let all that wither away under Sidereal influence and unwilling to endure who knows how long at the worlds edge like some begger forced to the outskirts of a city she went amongst her fellows and gathered a host.

In the Wyld, where time flows strangely the Lunar Warlord Eala took some of the lingering technology they had been able to flee with as well as charms developed to help her create a strange army. Lion beastmen, fae creatures tamed by the Lunar might, malcontents and rebels who did not like the rule of the Dragonblooded, summoned demons and elementals, she struck in the southeast. Following the western edge of the Summer Mountains her host had early gains against an unprepared Shogunate. The Battle of Sorin's Pass marked the end though. Though her power was great and certain artifacts looted from previous military fascilities allowed the Lunar a measure of safety from the WMDs of the Shogunate their military might had finally gathered.

The four day battle could perhaps have still been won by Eala even if her invasion would have been stopped there and she would have had to retreat to gather her power and lick her wounds. The Sidereals though had finally maneuvered their way out of the interference of the heavenly allies of Eala. Their influence brought in a counter to the sorcery and second circle demons that Eala had brought in and Sidereal Martial Artists could be used to help match the potent Full Moon and her other Lunar allies.

The Lunar's blade, Kari, was taken and brought along with her head to be presented to the Shogun. Only the most learned of Savant's know the details of the General who defeated her. Yet the blade, a trophy of the greatest battle since the Ursupation itself was carried by the Shogun's favored general whoever they may have been at the time. The Shogunate was by no means a peaceful time and it saw much use. Up until the Great Contagion at least.

In the strange days after the Empress to be used the Sword of Creation to wipe the Fae from Creation a group of Lunars, including the reincarnation of Eala, went into Creation and braved the wyld damaged region of Hollow, managing to escape with the sword and the skull of Eala, giving both a proper buriel after centuries. The tomb lies lost now but those who study the history of the Shogunate know well of it and the Lunars speak legends of Eala still.

The weapon is also known as the Learning Blade. This Reaper Daiklaive of Moonsilver takes the adaptive powers of Lunars and Moonsilver to even higher levels. When fighting someone the weapon learns how to face them, the blade bending and twisting to strike and block. Even when not attuned or being used it seems to move and shift almost seeming like a snake more than a sword.

Each turn it is used to attack someone it gains a stacking bonus of +1 to Accuracy and Defense. This goes up every action it is used to strike or defend against someone to a max of the users Wits or 5 whichever is higher. This bonus is measured against individual targets so after several rounds of fighting one foe if the user starts to fight another it has to learn how they fight though it can have adapted to multiple people at once. This bonus drops back to 0 at the end of each scene. The weapon costs 6 motes to attune.
