Description

History
There are places near Mt Metagalapa that are not completely safe for those who are trapped on the ground. Places that will leave food out on certain nights to ensure worse things than mere thefts do not happen to them. Midgos is not from there. No he hails from Greyfalls though that is not important. What is important is that he was a Scavanger Lord and made perhaps not a great living but a good enough one that afforded him the chance to travel. The past was so much more interesting than the present.

Still he discounted an old friend's advice and gathered a crew to try to excavate a place some common lumberjacks had found. Himself and 20 fit workers went into the woods. They never left and it is assumed by the nearby village they had left from that the place killed them. This is only partly true. It was not the ruins of some city consumed by the wilderness after the Great Contagion. No he had stumbled on what was surely a great tomb to a very potent Solar. Potent enough that the defenses and enchantments laid on it by Sidereal and Dragonblood soon meant doom for his little party. Bloodied he had not even managed to get past its outermost defenses before his men were all dead. He made it back though barely to this little village and the hour was late and food put out.

Half starved he took some for himself only to be interupted by the hawk riders of Metagalapa. Only his complete breakdown and grovelling and snivelling kept them from ending his life. His mission a failure, reduced to theft and then pleading for his life where not a week ago he had commanded respect. Mocking him they let him live while from shuttered windows the villagers listened as he blubbered. A low point in his life. Stumbling away from the village after he was soon visited by a demon offering him...respect, power, a chance to have revenge and ensure what happened to him would never happen to him again. He didn't care it meant the Yozi. He said yes and power, insight, brilliance flooded him.

If the villagers had dared to return to the forest they might have seen that twisted mass of antlers that housed him. They speak of a night when the forest seemed to burn with green flames though looking closer never revealed any fire. Midgos had left for Malfeas to grow strong and wise and then to return and set his brilliance to work.

When one of the white feathers of Florivet fall into a puddle or pool of vitriol a demon bursts to life. These demons are called a Djur. They are also called the Demon Stags of Malfeas. Standing around 8 feet in height they look like massive mixes of stag and man with great and mighty antler racks. Thickly muscled they not only crew their 'fathers' ship but often are employed throughout Malfeas. For their strength and endurance they are often used like Blood Apes yet are easier to work with. Like Florivet they love fine wine or women though they lack his restraint for refusal. They might just be another basic brute race in Malfeas if not for one thing. In them lingers some piece of whatever it was that Florivet learned and caused Orabilis to curse him. This makes them perhaps the demon most likely to be sent into the sky to burn as one of the stars of Malfeas.

Demonologists suffer djur for two main reasons. Labor and warriors. The far more learned summom them to converse to perhaps tease out secret lore from the library of Orabilis without ever risking his hand upon them. If any have learned something though they kept it to themselves.
