Artifact 1 -- by BrilliantRain

Long ago, during the hight of the First Age, it was common for the powerful beings that ruled the land to create minor wonders for their subordinates, to increase their meager powers, and for themselves, so they would not be required to expend their concentration on minor magics. One of these types of minor items became known as Helpful Tools, as they were magically constructed to maximise their efficency.

Helpful Tools are constructed out of alloys of the various magical materials, usually of the type that is assocated with the presumed owner of said tools (although the type of material gives no bonuses or penalties to any attuned user). They are noteable for having very odd designs, but when used by their attuned owner, they are found to be so light and ergonomic that they lessen strain caused by repetitive movements and cause each movement to flow naturally into the next which increases the tempo and wastes less energy thus increasing the speed of the work. (A user who attunes one of these tools by paying 1 mote of essence and uses it for an appropreate craft project can add additional successes to the craft roll by paying 3m per success, to a maximum of the original number of successes rolled. All items created using the tools take the normal time for a basic version of the item being crafted, regardless of how good the finished item is.)
