I'm trying to figure out some appropriate values here. Comments welcome.

Concealed Rapid-Deployment Matrix

Cost: 5 motes
Installation Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Minimum Manipulation: 4
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Integrated Artifact Transmogrifier

The Alchemical is equipped with a series of paramagnetic conduits in his arms or thighs, and his internal mechanisms are rearranged to accommodate a set of storage cells in his limbs. Each cell can hold a single weapon, tool, or other accessory, up to the size of a knife or small shortsword, and the Alchemical is equipped with a number of cells equal to his permanent Essence. The Storyteller may rule that several very small devices can be kept inside a single cell, such as a handful of shuriken.

When the character activates this Charm, he may store any object he is holding, or that he can put his hand on, that fulfills the size requirements stated above. His limb or limbs spring open for a moment, guiding the object on force-rails into an unoccupied storage cell and locking it in place. Thereafter, he may call any stored device back to either hand as a reflexive action. His limb springs open, parting along the middle to form a gap, and the stored object is ejected through this gap and into his palm. Weapons deployed in this fashion are considered immediately ready. The Alchemical may store any number of objects with a single activation of the Charm, and may likewise reflexively deploy any number of objects. The cost of the Charm is paid per activation, not per stored object, and retrieving objects does not cost Essence and does not count as a Charm activation.

Due to its intended use (concealment), this Charm has no visible manifestation, and characters may internally store items without breaking effects such as the Integrated Artifact Transmogrifier. However, characters cannot assimilate or deploy stored items without breaking the effects of stealth and concealment Charms.

Objects stored in the Matrix cannot be detected by anything short of an invasive cavity-search or appropriate magical detection. However, amputation of the limb where an object is stored would allow someone to retrieve objects that were stored.

Alchemicals may install one or more submodules that augment the effects of this Charm.

Hearth-Cell Socket Refit: This submodule costs 1 bonus point or 3 XP. If installed, any attuned Hearthstones stored in a character's storage cells are considered to be touching skin for Essence-regeneration purposes, and automatically activates the Hearthstone as though it were socketed in an artifact. No Essence commitment is required.

Dimensionally Transcendental Cell: This submodule costs 2 bonus points or 6 XP. This submodule replaces one, several, or all of the character's storage cells with crystalline nodes and Essence conduits that convey physical matter to or from Elsewhere, significantly increasing the size limitation for stored objects. The character may now store and deploy objects as large as a sword or axe. Alternately, the character may now store several smaller objects, such as knives or small shortswords, in a single cell. Amputation of a limb where such a storage cell is contained means the stored object is lost forever. In addition to the activation cost, the character must commit 2 motes of Essence for each Dimensionally Transcendental Cell he possesses which is storing objects.

Charm Synergy:

 • In an Array with the Paramagnetic Tether Beam, characters may snatch weapons away from opponents and immediately store them in their storage cells, subject to the usual size limitations.
 • If the Multi-Limb Frame or related Charms are installed, the Matrix can store and deploy objects using any limb equipped with manipulators.
 • When using the Transphase Engine, the Alchemical may specify whether his stored components become dematerial or whether they are left behind. This may be used as part of a stunt, e.g. to detonate explosive charges while leaping through a protective barrier. Alchemicals may not materialize stored objects into solid matter while they are in transit, any more than they could materialize themselves. In addition, these two Charms in an Array would permit an Alchemical to reach into something and store it immediately with a Dexterity + Larceny roll, thus stealing objects through solid barriers.

Advanced Uses:

 • The character may position his hand to not catch an ejected item, instead making a crude Thrown attack against an opponent or tossing a weapon or accessory to an ally.
 • With a successful Wits + Larceny check, the character may quickly snatch an item into his storage cells, avoiding notice. Characters may make an opposing Perception + Awareness check to detect the theft.
 • Characters who disarm an opponent may make a grab for the weapon, if it will fit into their storage cells. If they successfully grab the weapon, they may use this Charm to deny the opponent a chance to regain his weapon.
