Zahaqiel/ExaltedModern
I'm redesigning this campaign setting based off the "Abyssal: The Masquerade" thread written by Hand-of-Omega in the Exalted forum, since I had a few players interested in it and it makes for an even deeper seeting.
At the turning of an age
At the end of the Second Age of Man, the forces of Malfeas broke free. Creation united to fight the demonic horde and managed to push them back, but only at a great cost. The whole of Creation was devastated.
The Deathlords, seeing their chance, rose up and conquered Creation. They captured every Solar, and converted them into Abyssal servants. They shattered the remnants of the Realm, killing all those they didn't enslave. They slew the Lunars and sealed them away. The Sidereals disappeared.
Confident in the imminent destruction of Creation and the Underworld, the Neverborn turned their attention away from their loyal servants; returning to a deep, restful slumber.
But they were wrong.
The Deathlords, realising that their masters now rested peacefully, used their extensive knowledge of Necromancy to bind them in their torpor with the aid of their Abyssal servants.
Centuries passed, ages turned, and it is the modern day. Creation still has yet to fall into Oblivion as the Neverborn commanded. But a new star is rising in the sky... and everything is about to change...
