Casteless Lunar Character Creation

(Note: Being a casteless Lunar still sucks.)

CASTE: None
NATURE: Any.

ATTRIBUTES: Primary 8, Secondary 6, Tertiary 5. Casteless Lunars choose one Favoured Attribute in each of the three Attribute areas, each of which must be rated at least three.

ABILITIES: 25 Ability Points. Lunars have one Favoured Ability, plus Survival as a Caste Ability. The Favoured must have 3 dots, and Survival must have at least 1.

BACKGROUNDS: Casteless Lunars get 7 Background points. Use the revised Background list, as follows:

From the Core Book: Allies, Backing, Contacts, Influence, Mentor, Resources
From the Lunar Book: Cult
REVISED BACKGROUNDS: Artifact, Familiar, Followers, Heart's Blood, Manse
NOT ALLOWED: Renown. Because they aren't Pact.

Artifact: Luanrs purchase each Artifact as a seperate Background, rather than pooling their dots into one Background.
Familiar: See the Familiar section in the Miscellaneous section. I'm too lazy to copy/paste it everywhere.
Followers: As Familiar.
Manse: As with Artifact, Solars purchase each Manse or Demense as a seperate Background if they are lucky enough (and powerful enough) to have more than one.
Heart's Blood: This Background is renamed Shapes. Humans and animals are each one form (use the 'animal' numbers from the Lunar book.) See Finding the Spirit's Shape in the Charms section for more details.

VIRTUES: Lunars begin play with 5 dots of Virtues. No Virtue may be purchased above 3 dots at this time.

CHARMS: Casteless Lunars get only 7 Charms. No more than one of these may be a Transformation Charm (see the Transformation Charms in the Charms section).

WILLPOWER AND ESSENCE: Casteless Lunars get +1 Willpower over the normal formula, to a maximum of 10. They have 2 Essence, as normal.

BONUS POINTS: As normal for Lunars, with the following exceptions:
Favoured Charms: 5 bonus points (6 bonus points for Transformation Charms or Martial Arts) Non-Favoured Charms: 6 bonus points (8 bonus points for Transformation Charms or Martial Arts)

SILVER PACT LUNAR CREATION

(Note: Lunars trained by the Pact but who have foresaken it use Pact creation and Casteless Background rules.)

CASTE: Any Lunar Caste.
NATURE: Any.

ATTRIBUTES: Primary 9, Secondary 7, Tertiary 5. In addition, Pact Lunars choose two more Attributes as Favoured, at their discretion. All Caste AND Favoured Attributes must be rated at 3 or above.

ABILITIES: 25 Ability Points. Pact Lunars have one Favoured Ability, plus Survival as a Caste Ability. The Favoured must have 3 dots, and Survival must have at least 1.

BACKGROUNDS: Pact Lunars get 10 Background points. Use the revised Background list, as follows:

From the Core Book: Allies, Backing, Contacts, Influence, Mentor, Resources
From the Lunar Book: Cult
REVISED BACKGROUNDS: Artifact, Familiar, Followers, Heart's Blood, Manse, Renown, Song Lines

Renown: Rather than use the overly-complex Renown system from the Lunar book, just eyeball it. The Renown background works as follows:
x - Rank amateur, in training. Has not made it onto the Face system yet.
o - Your character is considered to have passed her training, and is Nain-Ya (Face 1).
oo - A skilled Nain-Ya who distinguished herself during her trials.
ooo - Your character has reached Face 2; although still Nain-Ya, she has already distinguished herself.
oooo - Your character is well-established and has become one of the Uf-Ya (Face 3).
ooooo - A high-ranking Uf-Ya, your character is only a short ways away from becoming a true respected leader of the Pact. (Face 4).
(Note: Yes, this Background got a major upgrade. That's because it SUCKED.)
Songlines: Your character knows the ways of the songlines, and can tap into their knowledge. This has two uses. First, the character may spend an hour meditating on any Wisdom-Ability issue for every die she wants to add, and then add up to her Songlines to the roll as she consults its wisdom. A total number of dice equal to the character's Songlines rating can be used in this way per story. Secondly, the character is considered to have a tutor in all Wisdom Abilities as long as she is raising her Ability to a point equal to or lower than her Songlines score. Finally, the character may sometimes learn spells from the songline. Once per month, the character may attempt to learn a spell; roll their Songlines, with a difficulty of 1 for Terrestrial spells and 3 for Celestial spells. If successful, the character may learn the spell normally.

SHINING WAY LUNAR CREATION

(Note: Lunars trained by the Way but who have foresaken it use Way creation and Casteless Background rules. Which admittedly gives them a penalty against those trained by the Pact, but suck it up.)

CASTE: Any Lunar Caste.
NATURE: Any.

ATTRIBUTES: Primary 8, Secondary 7, Tertiary 5. In addition, Way Lunars choose two more Attributes as Favoured. All Caste and Favoured Attributes must be rated at 3.

ABILITIES: 25 Ability Points. Way Lunars have one Favoured Ability, plus Survival or Endurance as a Caste Ability. The Favoured must have 3 dots, and the Caste Ability must have at least 1 dot.

BACKGROUNDS: Way Lunars get 10 Background points. Use the revised Background list, as follows:

From the Core Book: Allies, Backing, Mentor, Resources
From the Lunar Book: Cult
From the Dragonblooded: Artifact*, Connections, Henchmen, Manse*
REVISED BACKGROUNDS: Familiar, Followers, Heart's Blood, Song Lines

(Note: The Shining Way doesn't really have rank, as such. Instead, Connections and Followers determine the relative power of the group.)
Artifact: Way Lunars have a good supply of moonsilver artifacts, and may use the background from Exalted: The Dragonblooded to purchase moonsilver artifacts. If they want more, or non-moonsilver, they purchase them seperately, as Solars do.
Familiar: See the Familiar section in the Miscellaneous section. I'm too lazy to copy/paste it everywhere.
Followers: As Familiar.
Manse: The Shining Way spends time cultivating its Manses. Silver Way Lunars may purchase the Manse background from the Dragon-Blooded book. If they want more manses or demenses, they purchase each seperately as per Solars.
Heart's Blood: This Background is renamed Shapes. Humans and animals are each one form (use the 'animal' numbers from the Lunar book.) See Finding the Spirit's Shape in the Charms section for more details.

LUNAR EXPERIENCE

Lunar Experience costs are as per the Lunars book, with the following changes:

Caste or Favoured Attribute: Current Rating x3, requires Current Rating x weeks to train New Charm or Terrestrial Spell: 12 (10 if favoured)
New Transformation Charm, Martial Arts Charm or Celestial Spell: 15 (12 if favoured)
New Sidereal Martial Arts Charm: 18 (15 if favoured) - and see the Charms section
