About the size of a grown man's fist this strange device seems to have no discernable purpose. Taking the shape of a 20 sided die the faces of this die are made of jade. Four faces of each kind of jade. The lines that keep them all in places formed of Orichalcum. Each face has been worked to a mirror shine and any piece can be turned on an axis connecting a pyramid point to a base point so that one can look inside. Interestingly when Sunlight is shone inside or the light given off by an Exalt's anima banner the light quickly starts getting captured inside, bending and bouncing and refining in strange ways. Whatever essence source is provided is quickly converted into a very raw single elemental energy or a mix of them depending on which mirrors are turned and the degree to which they might be and even if you flip a mirror completely it changes. What is interesting is that this elemental energy bears similarities to the Elementals of Creation, the refined essence of Gods and even the natural primordial elemental essence of Creation. Still the light soon enough seems to run out and one is left with nothing anymore inside.
This is at least what virtually anyone would notice of the thing. The Incarna and a few very old gods might recognize the device as something more. When the Incarna were working on the creation of the Elementals the Heliotrope of Five Lights was one of the divine tools that they used in their work in experimenting. Used properly, a monumental feat in itself, the device gives one an increadible insight into the nature of Elementals but also how to create them, change them, deep insights into the essence of Creation and into the primary souls of Gaia as well. The complexity of the device though limits its knowledge to the eldest of Exalted and most puissant of Gods though its simple enough to attune to which is needed to be able to see the reaction inside or to move the mirrors.
It should have been locked away in Yu-Shan. However at some point it went missing. The thing is no one knows its gone missing as where it was hidden was chosen by the Maiden of Secrets herself to keep other Gods from messing around with it. Even used improperly the device and without active energy being fed to it merely being in Creation causes it to react and cause effects of those holding it.
The first and most obvious is that the attuned holder of the device is much loved by Elementals. Any elemental within a mile of the user gains an immidiate Intimacy of love and loyalty to the user that can not be broken until they are outside the area in which case the effect fades over a week. The second effect is that it strengthens Elementals near it. Any elemental within about 40 yards is treated as having its essence being 1 higher then normal and they assume a more draconic appearance though by no means do they gain size to compare to that of the Lesser Elemental Dragons unless their natural form allready gave them such size. The cost for dematerializing is also halved for them. The final benifit of just possessing it is only apparent in the Dragonblooded. The power of the device mixes well with the divine blood in their bodies. They no longer pay a surcharge on charms of the wrong element and every week find their bloodborn might strengthening effectively giving them the essence bonus that comes with a high Breeding until they max out while sadly not passing any advantage off to children.
This device is beyond 5 dots in terms of its potential power and is more a plot device then anything else. Storytellers are encouraged to be creative with what can be done with intential manipulation of it and essence making it a potent weapon or maybe even letting one undo the connection the Elementals have to their creators in the Gods.
