History and Personality
Haraka is the son of the redeemed scavenger prince Malidadi Hodari. A world-traveler and explorer, the thaumaturge first came to the valley two and a half decades ago. There he met Haraka's mother, Seika. She traveled with the young scavenger for the next five years, before they returned to the valley to settle down and marry.

The oldest of two children, Haraka grew up most of his life in the valley. He showed a great proficiency at speech and his father had begun teaching how to read Flametonuge and Old Realm by the time the boy was ten.

As Haraka grew older, he soon joined his father in some of his less dangerous trips. The man was wide-traveled and well-versed in many spoken languages, so as the thaumaturge's son saw the world, he learned of its intricacies and cultures as well. He traveled from the glass ruins of Chiaroscuro, the military order of Lookshy, and even the shoars of the Blessed Isle on one occassion. The boy grew to love travel, people, and especially language.

By the time he was fourteen, Haraka was being trained in the thaumaturgical arts. His father showed him what was needed in the life of a scavenger. Warding, exorcising, and summoning spirits. How to tell if something is enchanted or merely a fluke. And the proper way to identify alchemical potions. Along with this, his father showed Haraka the better practices of the scavenger. How to get a good deal, find the right customer, or get the right contract. The boy attended parties that his famous father would be invited to in various parts of the region. And all the while, he kept to his love of books and words, meeting peoples from many lands and with many tongues.

Now, at the age of eighteen, Haraka is a rather well to do young man. He is ready to see the world on his own, and his restlessness is obvious to his parents and those he knows. Despite this, he remains a rather polite, and atleast tolerated part of the community. He still does errands for his mother and father. he still cares for his little sister. But when the opportunity comes, he wants to set out. And become as great a name in the community of savants and thaumaturges as his father is now.

Appearance
Haraka's father is a man of Southeastern descent, while his mother one of obvious Eastern. This creates an interesting blend in the young man, who bares a bit of a "light black" skintone. His facial features are also very Southern, save for a bit of a narrowing int he eyes, and comparatively straight hair if he ever were to let it grow out. He is a bit on the thin side, which makes him seem acward with his rather tall height of 6'2, but such things are not unheard of in the Scavenger Lands.

Haraka often dresses in loose-fitting, comfortable clothing. He tends not to wear all that bright of colors, nor much in jewlry. He wears boots which are tied tightly around his mid-shin, something he learned as a boy from his father as being a good course of action in forests and jungles. His shaved head more often then not is left uncovered, and the glasses he wears on his nose give him a bit of an educated look, something he enjoys presenting when dealing with more cultured environments.
