I run at least two forum searches on "Neph" every day. Every invocation reaches me. :-)

Crypt Bolt is like Elemental Bolt in many ways, a blast of energy rather than a physical projectile.

Technically, it's not unblockable because it doesn't say it is. I would personally require a Charm or stunt to block it, but Exalted ought to be able to deflect such blasts lightsaber-style with a Crypt Bolt. I'm of two minds about mortal weapons. I think... based on what the bolt does... that parrying it with a mortal weapon is a bad idea since it would seem to rot/rust the weapon to bits. There isn't a system for that, and there probably ought to be. If I had the charm to do over again, I'd probably put in something to that effect and then bump the cost and/or decrease the maximum damage threshold slightly to compensate, assuming the final result needed compensating.

I haven't had that issue in my own games yet, because characters did not attempt a parry without a magical weapon.

*thinks*

It's a good question. So, the short answer is yes, the Crypt Bolt can be blocked. The next question is "What happens to your weapon?" Off the top of my head, I'd say magical weapons are immune, as are mundane weapons if the defending character used a Charm to augment the parry in any fashion. Exceptional weapons are simply damaged and lose their exceptional status (and bonuses), but normal quality weapons are destroyed.

If you feel that change buffs the power of a Crypt Bolt too high, I'd change the limit on number of motes you can spend to Stamina + Essence rather than its current limit.
