These are a collection of terms unique to the Third Age, for easy reference. They assume the foreknowledge of all terms used in the main rulebook and supplements of first edition, including Exalted: The Autocthonians.

  • Augmented (Aug) - a fusion of mortal and machine spirit, equivalent in power to a godblood, made possible by currently emergent technology.
  • the Covenant - the pact made between the recently emergent Mountain Folk and the Sova nation at the beginning of the Third Age. The Mountain Folk would provide the materials and expertise to build a glorious empire in Autocthon's name, whilst Sovan dignitaries would see the empire's inhabitants remained peaceful, devoted and content.
  • Drone - a semiautomatous teratogenic fusion of Creationborn elemental and Autocthonian machine spirit. Teratogenic technology has advanced considerably since the Locust Crusade, and methods used in their creation allow both a dramatic cut in wastage and a fine degree of control over their resultant form and mentality.
  • Essence-recalibrative martial arts - a purposeless engineered set of martial arts reminiscent of the five Immaculate Dragon styles, designed in order to harmonise Dragon-Blooded aspects with Autocthon's own. They consist of the Crystal, Lightning, Metal, Oil, and Steam Dragon styles.
  • the Foundation - the third layer from the top in an Autocthonian city, housing the vast majority of its industrial might.
  • Lumpen - semi-derogatory Autocthonian term referring to the disenfranchised of their society. In recent years, the term has expanded to cover all Creationborn that live within Autocthonian cities, and is used with contempt by the Wastelanders.
  • the Overcity - the second from top layer of an Autocthonian city, housing the Autocthonian citizens and bureaucratic wings.
  • the Pinnacle - the top layer of an Autocthonian city, housing the senior officials and their areas of work.
  • Reachrunners - are individuals, typically Creationborn, that scrape a living in the hazardous span of the Reaches. Constantly at threat by forces infiltrating from above and below, theirs is a perilous life - but free and filled with opportunity.
  • Recalibrants - Dragon-Blooded under Sovan influence that are studying essence-recalibrative martial arts in order to closer align themselves with Autocthon's own elemental facets. These martial artists are typically used in a similar manner as the Wyld Hunt of old, for psychological reasons as much as any other.
  • Sovan Arc - the Sova nation's span of control, so named because it describes a rough arc from Estasia in the nortwest, down to Yugash in the southwest, and across to Gulak in the southeast.
  • Tabs - work scrips given by Autocthonians to their Lumpen workers in exchange for shift work. Tabs are strips of translucent, brightly coloured material that are used as currency amongst the Lumpen, as they can be traded to their Autocthonian overlords in exchange for food, medical supples and construction materials. 'Tabbing' is purchasing with tabs.
  • Tick - a colloquial term for the period of time equivalent to a standard shift (5 hours).
  • the Undercity - the fourth layer from the top in an Autocthonian city, housing the Lumpen workers.
  • the Wastes - vast Wyld-tainted regions where Reality has lost its sway; in the consequent decay of physical rule, the factions of the Fair Folk and Deathlords fight for control. They are joined by Reachrunners eager to
  • Wastespawn - generic term used by the Autocthonians to refer to anything that emerges from or is encountered in the Wastes. They operate a strict exterminate-or-retreat policy that only adds to the fear of the populace of everything dwelling outside City borders.
