Charms and other powers:

Anima Power: 5 motes, add your Essence to any die pool for escaping being held, grappled, locked up, etc. This lasts a scene.

Combo: Roshambo. Tara announces it's time for a game of Roshambo, then aims a kick at the groin, which is followed up by her foot then hooking back to kick out one of her foe's knees from behind the leg. Groin Kick + Crippling Strike. 2 WP, 6 motes. She picks a limb and attacks at +2 difficulty. If the blow hits, the foe must beat her post-parry/dodge attack successes on a Stamina + Resistance roll, or else suffer a -1 die penalty for each point of Brawl she has, which lasts until the start of her next turn. In addition, her victim rolls Stamina + Resistance with a difficulty of her Brawl. If he fails, the chosen limb cannot be used until healed; it is broken. If he succeeds, he suffers a -2 die penalty the rest of the fight from the injury to it.

Appearance

Tall and thin with long white hair, usually wearing a dark fedora and rough travelling clothes, with vivid green eyes. Dr. Tara is a natural beauty but doesn't make much effort to dress up. She only dons her Renderclaws if battle threatens, as the blades get in the way and she thinks it makes her look crazy. In battle, she tends to spend a lot of time trying to wisecrack to rattle her foes, but isn't actually good at it.

Fetishes

Her Fedora is her Moe 3 fetish; she wears it constantly.

Personality:

Dr. Lemarchand Tara has a hunger to recover ancient knowledge, a hunger which is nigh-suicidal at times. She drags her friends off on dangerous quests into places best left forgotten, simply because she wants to know what is in there.

She has a great deal of respect for scholars, mortal or Magical Girl, while tending to dismiss everyone else as not smart enough to keep up with her. She is, in fact, rather vain about her intellect. Her husband and kids are not too bright, so she has little time for them.

History:

Born into a fairly average Lemarchand family, she showed early signs of genius, when she began building her own toys out of things found around the house. Her family paid for her to go to a good primary school, where she met her two closest friends, and she then attended The Scarlet Institute For the Advancement of Arts and Sciences, where she graduated with honors. She has since become a professor there, somewhat to the disappointment of her family, who wanted her to either go into sorcery or else the government.

She now splits her time between adventuring expeditions to recover old artifacts and teaching. She has a husband (Ragnarok Takanari), taken at her family's insistence, and two children (Mela and Bela), now in primary school. She doesn't pay as much attention as she really should to any of the three.


Storyteller's Notes:

Dr. Tara is a fairly typically experienced, but still not too old Magical Girl. She's fairly average as professors at the Scarlet Institute go. She's also a living adventure hook, as she's constantly running off into trouble.
