Trance of Concentrated Erudition

Cost: 10 motes, 1 Willpower
Duration: One day
Type: Simple
Min. Lore: 1
Min Essence: 1
Prereqs: None

Through the use of this Charm, the character enters a focused meditative state in which her attention is narrowed to a single discrete task of an academic nature. For one full day, the character can do nothing but focus upon her task. She cannot eat, drink, sleep, or comunicate with others unless they, too, are using this Charm to focus upon the same topic. When the Charm ends, the character will have effectively acquired up to an entire week's worth of knowledge. This Charm may be used consecutively with itself a number of times equal to the character's successes on a Stamina + Endurance roll, but a wise character will rest and eat between uses of this Charm as it does not provide any respite from an Exalt's need for sleep or sustenance. The Trance of Concentrated Erudition will allow a character to condense up to one week's worth of study or training into one day in any subject for which she does not require a tutor. Essence used to power this Charm is committed until the Charm ends.

Training Condensation Technique

Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Min. Ability: 3
Min Essence: 2
Prereqs: Trance of Concentrated Erudition

The learning of this Charm imparts knowledge of certain tecniques which speed educational processes. Characters who possess this Charm reduce all training times to one-half of their former values. Thus, a character with the Training Condensation Technique may learn a ne non-caste ability in one and a half weeks and a new Celestial Circle spell in a week. This Charm cannot be taken multiple times, but training times can be further reduced with Trance of Concentrated Erudition as normal. This Charm only has an effect upon training times, and it does not speed the learning of academic subjects which do not impart a change to the character.
