Appearances
Sigrun is often seen in slightly less bulky clothing then most citizens of Yarkand. Never quite so ostentatious as the west, but if everyone else is in a parka, she might be seen comfortably in thin robes. She tends to prefer bright colors, but softer tones, preferably matching with her white Ushanka. She often carries a light lavendar umbrella; She doesn't like rain at all...
Backstory
Sigrun was a happy daughter of the leader of a now extinct city-state in the North, known as Husavik. Although she was learning some of the principles of management, what she really loved was digging into all of the collected texts that the pampered daughter of a nobleman would have access to. She typically would advise her father, particularly in matters that concerned the Dead, or the Fair Fol. This all changed when she ended up stumbling on a promising looking text; The [i]Tome of Endless Night, Vol. 108[/i]. This text shattered her comfortable lifestyle, or as comfortable as the North can get for those in it. She ended up slipping into a deep state of ennui, oftentimes unable to eat. She could never quite motivate herself into ending it all, and wrestled with the matter at great length. She was obviously not herself, and until someoneelse decided to end it for her. Specifically, the Bull of the North and his Icewalker tribes came knocking on the doorstep of Husavik. She could have stood her ground, or given into her suicidal impulses and allowed Bull of the North's men to kill her. She instead chose to live. In that instant, she became surrounded by a corona of light, an outpouring of light that made even the noontime sun in the frozen north appear dim in comparison.
Although she slew any Icewalkers who stood in her way, she focused on escape. Not just from the marauding army, but from her old life, her old existence. Her complacency was over. Not that one has room for complacency alone in the wastes. She wandered, unsure of her place, both literally and where she stood in Creation. She still felt a sense of dread, of impending doom simply by being Mortal, and was unsure of how to handle that, until she came upon a lone Mammoth surrounded by voracious polar bears. The Mammoth stood before many more tracks that were vanishing in the northern snows, and trumpeted as it charged one of the bears. In watching, Sigrun felt something click. The beast was ancient, older then she'd ever live (She wasn't aware she'd have a longer lifespan yet), and in it raged with the ancient beast, slew the bears, making a nice warm hat from the fur of one. With the newly named Gama, she wandered through the wastelands, looking for a suitable area to create something that could stand against the mightiest force of all; Time.
Sigrun re-emerged from the wilderness near Cherak. However, after a brief stay in Cherak and acquaintance with Immaculate Philosophy, she realized this was not a good place to remain, so she took her plans elsewhere. Although Gama is not as comfortable in Yarkand as he might otherwise be, Sigrun was glad to set up shop in a region that was doing brisk trade and would have need of her services. She set up shop outside the town proper, having purchased a great deal of farmland mostly to have empty space. She made the largest building her own home, then set up an adjoining workshop so that the home itself could be filled with books, and is well known throughout town as an eccentric who can provide very useful occult information. She's lately been taking up apprentices, knowing that she simply doesn't have the means to work on her
