Tara was born to a small family in a highland farming village in the north. Their village was struck with many poor harvests since Tara was born, and being on the borders of two rival barbarian clan territories, it was raided frequently and fought in recklessly by the barbarian kings' subjects. During these raids the villagers could only flee to the hills and watch as the raiders sacked their homes and stole the meager supplies they kept. Tara and her brothers would often go days at a time without an ounce of food.
One year however the army that marched into their village was not of the barbarian tribes, but the mighty legions of General Tepet Enor, sent to pacify the north and reign the anathema menace Yurgen Kaneko once and for all. During the Legion's stay, Tara was recruited by the chief surgeon of the Legion. With little else to lose, and nothing to stay for, Tara accepted Yengo's offer to travel with the troops and learn the arts of medicine.
Tara learned quickly and her talent with her hands made her one of Yengo's favoured assistants and closest friends.
One night however any happiness Tara had left was savagely stripped away from her when one of the young dragonblood officers propositioned her, and when she refused, he brutally beat and raped her.
After that, Tara smiled little and laughed even less. Youth an innocence were taken from her in a single night.
Tara is a fine featured willowy woman with pale skin and ivory blonde hair. Her eyes are deep blue, but they seem colourless and empty. She is quite pretty, but is quiet and rarely smiles, and prone to long haunted stares. Tara typically wears a simple blue dress over a long sleeved tunic and wears slacks and workboots underneath. A medical bag is always on her shoulders and when she and Yengo travel, she carries the food-pack.
