MeiRen/Infernals
When the Yozis claimed 50 Solar Essences from their Malfean brothers, it was like children being reunited with their long lost mother - a mother turned inside out, driven totally mad, and consumed with hate. All things come orginally from the will of the Primordials who made the world, and the Exalted are no exception. The Yozis welcomed their poor, trecherous children into their lovingarms. They drew a mark upon the Essences, and whispered unspeakable things into their ears. Then they cast the Essences out into Creation, to seek proper hosts.
Although the Yozis took possesion of the Essences, they were not able to fully control them. The Essences are protected by the vows the Yozis made to the victorious Exalts in the time before the First Age. A Solar in all his majesty might revoke these vows of his own free will, and become an Akuma. But an Essence alone is not a Solar in all his majesty. But the Yozis are cunning beyond reckoning, and while they could not subsume the Essences entirely, they were able to warp them subtly. They whispered dark things into the memory of the Essence, twisted it as they themselves were twisted, stroked it as a master admiring a cat, calling the Essences their favorite servants in languages no man has ever heard.
Then they cast the Essences out into the world, and the Essences sought not the great and strong of art, but the weak and craven. For while their Abyssal cousins are a dark reflection of the Solars, the Infernals are a twisted inversion. Where a Malfean can bind with vows, a Yozi relies on the innate weakness and corruption of human nature.
And thus, were born the Infernals.
