The style known as the Scathing Sandstorm Style has only been in existance for a few centuries now. The style was invented by an air aspect born to the nomadic Delzhan tribes. Suddenly finding herself more then just an object of beauty for her people yet past the of choosing the grey she broke away from her people. She spent a decade in the Realm trying to become a monk before returning to the deserts she would always come home. Yet her time spent there inspired her and was worthwhile. She created this martial arts style to emulate the terrible natural power of the south she had grown up learning to try to avoid and hide from. She has few students. The Delzhan ways make her an outsider now but she remains in Chiaroscuro teaching those who will come to her. She is old now but still a wise and respected teacher. When she passes on there will be enough of her students to ensure the style survives.

Scathing Sandstorm Style is about speed mostly. Because of that its wearers can only wear armor with a mobility penalty of 0. The weapons of this style are the short sword and slashing sword and their artifact equivilants. Air aspected Martial Artists do not have to pay the surcharge for using this terrestial style. Teachers of this style require their students to experience the power of a sandstorm to know what they will emulate and so those who learn this style must have 2 dots in survival or a specialty in desert survival.

Letting this whipping southern winds give speed and lightness to her the martial artist makes great bounds and moves with increadible speed. She adds her Martial arts in to the distance of her move and jump actions prior to any doubling effects.

Sometimes in the desert the storm can come upon you before you have time to seek shelter. This charm permits the character to use an Awareness or Wits excellency to add dice to their join battle rolls without it counting as charm use. They may not spend more then their essence in motes in this way though to gain this benifit.

Sand Through the Fingers Evasion

Anyone who has seen the sand's of the south knows how hard it is to move sand. It just slips through fingers, through cracks, its hard to contain. So is the martial artist. She slips past blows and escapes the reaching fingers of her enemies. So long as she has moved at least a yard since her last action she can use this charm and add her Martial Arts to her DV before the halfing calculation.

The sandstorms lash and cut. There is no way to avoid them but to hide and wait for it to pass by. So is the martial artist like a dervish, a whirling sandstorm of their own. The first benifit is that she finds the rate of all her attacks increased by 1. The second benifit is that anytime she flurries but directs her attacks at different people she gets a number of bonus dice equal to the number of attacks she makes to divide amongst those she attacks. If she attacks five people she has five bonus dice she can use to increase her attack against one person or maybe a bonus die for each or however she chooses. If during a turn the martial artist moves her full movement in a turn she can apply her DV against attacks even from those behind her who would normally get a benifit against her.

Flurry of the Sandstorm

No one can hope to keep the sandstorm out. Their only hope is to find a place where it blows less fiercly or avoid it alltogether. The blades of the Sandstorm styleist are much the same. This charm supplements an attack against someone. Each attack in a flurry supplemented increases the onslaught penalty by one for their parry DV. So after the first attack they would be at -2 PDV, then -4, and so on. Against dodges it has no effect.

Daytime Blindness Assault

Being in a sandstorm can make things as dark as the moonless night. No light cuts through and the sand cuts into the eyes. While unable to make the world go dark she can however go for the eyes of her enemy and make the world go dark for them. Using this charm she makes an attack at her enemies eyes. A successful hit that causes at least a level of damage blinds her foe. A difficulty 4 medicine roll and proper treatment time can fix this damage if the victim survives. The natural healing of the Exalted will restore the eyes as well within a week or less when they add their charms to it.

Whipping Winds Assault Technique

She spins and whirls as she fights. Keeping her momentum going the wind spins around with her keeping her balanced and supported as she lashes out against her enemies. The martial artist for the rest of the scene only suffers half the usual penalty to their own DV from making attacks.

Lashing Cutting Winds Barrage
Cost: 7m, 1wp; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 3; Type: Extra Action

In a terrible blur the martial artist lashes out against all around her and moves like the desert wind rules her soul. Soon all her enemies are cut down. This charm is a magical flurry of attacks at her full normal dice pool. She makes can make a number of attacks up to her essence. Each attack must be at a different foe and the Exalt must move at least 1 yard for each attack she makes.

This final secret technique of the style she only teaches to those students who she truely trusts and only to those who are Dragonblooded. Though others have seen it she when pressed by her mortal students claims its a charm she designed to augment her weapons and has never used it without weapons in hand. That is a lie and it can be used unarmed or armed. She makes the four hand motions of four sandstorms and then she begins to fight. She can make her hand to hand attacks at a range equal to her Permanent essence plus the number of yards she has moved in yards. As her final advantage these attacks ignore cover and shields. Such a technique though scours the skin though and she suffers a level of lethal unsoakable damage for invoking the four sandstorms of the south.
