Crane Form
Cost: 6
Duration: One scene
Type: Simple
Min. Martial Arts: 4
Min. Essence: 2
Prereqs: Light as a Feather, Graceful Crane Stance

The Exalted adopts the attitude and stance of a graceful Crane -- wide-armed, wing-like movements, high kicking, and the crane's beak, a hand weapon made by joining the fingertips firmly. A Crane is elusive and quick, so not only does the characters Martial Arts Score is added to his initiative totals and his dodge or parry attempts for the scene, he also may reflexively dodge or parry with his Martial Arts Score only. The character also adds his Essence as Accuracy to all of his unarmed martial art attacks. These attacks are considered lethal, and this charm is incompatible with the use of armor. Characters cannot use more than one Martial Arts Form-type at a time.

Cost: 3 motes, 1 willpower

Type: Supplemental
Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Strength of the Talon

The character leaps towards his opponent with the intent of striking his enemy with a well placed attack, but then twist his body at the last moment to strike with kick that seemingly comes from no where, disabling his enemy the time to react to the attack. The opponent cannot dodge or parry the characters kick without the use of charms. The target’s player may make a reflexive Wits + Alertness roll against the attackers Essence in difficulty. If they succeed, they may counter the attack normally, and if they fail, they may only use charms that specifically state they work on attacks the character is not aware of.

Thousand Steel Feathers

Type: Extra Action
Min. Martial Arts: 4
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Crane Form

The speed of a Crane is crucial to its survival. Upon activation of this charm, the character may take up to his Essence in extra actions during the turn. These extra actions need not be an attack. A character may not split his dice pool during the round she uses Thousand Steel Feathers.

Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 3

When the crane fended itself off against the giant gorilla, it was able to twist and turn and retaliate by using its long neck and peck at the gorilla. Essence guides the characters to twist and turn, allowing him to strike at the opponents, “open door” when they extend to attack. The character may immediately make an attack at his full Dexterity + Melee dice pool against anyone executing a hand to hand attack against him. This attack is made after the roll to hit the counterattacking Exalted but before damage is determined.

Push Hands
Cost: 4 motes

Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Crane Form

After a successful parry or dodge, the character may envoke this charm to sidestep and push him. In doing so, the opponent is automatically shifted off balance, effectively placing the character behind his attacker and gains the benefits for being so. Also, any net successes on the parry is subtracted from the opponents initiatve total for his next action.

Locks and Throws
Cost: 5 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 3
Prereqs: Push Hands

After a successful parry, the character may evoke this charm. When doing so, the character may choose to sweep, hold, clinch, or throw his opponent. The net successes from the parry count as extra successes on any grappling attempt

Way of the Crane
Cost: 7 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: One scene
Type: Reflexive
Min. Martial Arts: 5
Min. Essence: 4
Prereqs: Locks and Throws, Striking the Wind Counterattack, Deceptive Wing Kick

The character is now able to parry and dodge all incoming attacks with his full Dexterity + Martial Arts and is then able to make an immediate counterattack with his full Dexterity + Martial Arts + any net successes from the parry or dodge preceeding the counterattack. A +3 Accuracy bonus is also granted on all of the characters unarmed attacks. This bonus can also be in addition to the Essence bonus granted by the Crane Form if character is in said form. This charm is incompatible with the use of armor.
