Born to House Cynis, she was given a relatively normal upbringing for a Dynast, until she Exalted at the age of 14. A visiting friend of a friend of her older brother's, calling himself Carnelian Festival Pyre, became nearly frantic when he saw her for the first time. Within a week, her parents said their mostly tearless goodbyes (she spent most of her time in her room reading, and they were busy with Cynis business in any case) and she was shipped off to the Scavenger Lands with her new guardian. Yeah, Carnelian Festival Pyre. For the next three years, he managed to bribe, bully, and beg her into accompanying him on his wide-ranging travels. She was still recalcitrant and surly, and learned little of what he tried to teach her. She could not even speak a word of Riverspeak until the third year.

One night, her master and she were ambushed by a trio of God-Blooded thugs in Nexus. She attempted to fight them off, still under the mistaken impression her guardian was mortal, but was badly beaten, being untrained and inexperienced in combat. The thugs were just about to attack her master when he killed all three of them. Barehanded. She woke to the flaring of his crimson anima, and didn't know quite what to think. He took her back to their rented apartments, and explained at great length exactly who he was (a fairly senior Gold Faction Chosen of Battles impersonating a Bronze Faction to scout out the Realm and Threshold), why he had taken her away from the life she knew and was content in (he had seen something icky in the Loom, and she was wrapped up in it), and the all-important fact that the Immaculate Philosophy was a blatant mostly-fabrication.

She took this fairly well, and uncurled from the fetal position after only a day or so. After that, they wandered the Threshold for a further ten years, now truly master and student, united by his vast power and iron will, and absolute refusal to tolerate one second further of her attitude. And some genuine loyalty and mutual affection. He took her to Yu-shan, gave her the obligatory tours, and she fell instantly in love with the place. Whenever events went their way, whenever a plan came to fruition, they usually went to Heaven to celebrate.

One day, her master was not his cheerful self. He was worried and gloomy, and insisted that they return to the Blessed Isle with all speed. They did so, dropping everything and running, and arrived three months later. The day after it was publicly announced that the Scarlet Empress had disappeared. Carnelian Festival Pyre was depressed almost to the point of suicide, and it was all Elunabis could do to shake him from his stupor.

They immediately embarked on a tour of the Blessed Isle, with her master renewing old acquaintances and frantically looking for something. What, she did not know. All she knew was that her master was acting increasingly erratic.

Then, one night, they were walking back from a salon when three Chosen of Endings appeared and engaged her and her master in an epic rooftop ninja battle of d00m. Mostly her master, as she was not really at their level of skill. After a mere ten minutes, the fight was over. Her master was dying under a pier, and she knew her life was going to change irrevocably for the third time. His last words were "Find her. And find the Compass. And find a way to get her back." Here he stopped for a fit of coughing up his own lungs in chunks, then whispered a final word. "Malfeas."

She ran, leaving the Blessed Isle and hiding in the Threshold, in fear for her life. For a year she lay low, so low that there were beggars higher than her. Until one day, the small village in the Hundred Kingdoms she was hiding in was visited by a roving band of musicians. That very day, she met the man who would become her steadfast companion and lover. The inhumanly elegant and charming Frost Cat. They bonded instantly, each instinctively knowing that they were meant to be together. That very day, funnily enough, the Chosen of Endings found her. They're good at that. she and Frost Cat had to make a daring escape, involving a river boat, a manure wagon, and a very odd man with a woven reed hat.

They arrived in Nexus and, by sheer coincidence, met Elunabis's second cousin and best friend form what little secondary school she had attended, Cynis Alyxis, the bumbling and largely incompetent Wood Aspect who had been a freak embarrassment to her (Breeding 4) parents. She immediately, in her lovable and mind-bogglingly stupid way, glommed onto them and they haven't been able to get rid of her since.

Elunabis is roughly 5'6", with blue-green skin, dark blue hair, and a face that many people would literally kill for. Even Alyxis, though she would prefer to kill somebody other than Elunabis for it or a suitable facsimile thereof. She is generously proportioned, but not to the point of looking like an adolescent's best fantasy ever. She compulsively sharpens her fingernails, and she bites. Hard. She and Frost Cat have by no means a monogamous relationship. Theirs is a union of the souls, so they can be relatively adulterous without fear of serious repercussions.

She is incredibly serious, and honestly believes the Realm is what is best for Creation. Her master's teachings didn't really sink in. She has virtually no scruples, but will do anything to protect those things important to her. Living in the relatively uncivilized Threshold for over a decade has given her an animal lust for warm baths and clothes that are comfy and sylin'.

Elunabis has been described as "anal," "bookish," "having the best f'ing poker face I've ever seen," and "one mighty fine lay if she's in the mood." Only one person ever said that last one, and he made good time out of the city. With a little help from his shiny golden sword-emitted beam o' destruction. And a strange man in a woven reed hat.
