Sandan Munari
Introduction
Sandan was first introduced to my party during "Talk like a pirate Day" - My night caste has just gone missing while wandering around alone at the Pyramid of the Sun So i decided that's a good Opportunity for something new.
At first i wasn't really sure i'm gonna keep on playing him but he just turned out to be Super fun to play so i had to keep at it.
Let's face it - Pirates are just too cool =)
I even got a good friend of mine to draw him for me (Aviv you rock!) - i recommend watching her entire gallery off course =) Sandan
Concept
Pirate, Pirate, Pirate! - Tee-hee. That's about all i had at first but then i started to flesh him out a bit.
I decided on a Thematic Concept which is basically a Struggle between two Emotions (or Virtues) - Sandan is a very emotional person, he's pretty short-tempered and tends to jump into harms way without thinking to much, Being a typical Zenith he's looking to bring His Golden Justice to creation.
This strong conviction is battling against his Temperance - Sandan realizes he's not alone in this world and that his somewhat Hasty actions may put innocent people at risk, he must think about the outcome of his actions.
(His Temperance is still low - 1, but it will grow in time as sandan learns more about the world).
This Theme is demonstrated through almost every choice i made for him - His Virtue Flaw "There is no Grey" is all about this balance - Everytime Sandan Fails to act and as a consequence The Situation is getting worse it adds to his limit, Same goes for everytime Sandan Acts without thinking and as a consequence Situation is worse (Poor Sandan, that's a tough condition to handle but it felt appropriate for my theme).
Same Theme is reflected with Sandan's Swords - The Orichalcum Daiklave The Calm Before the Storm is the "voice" of reason, it's the Temper to hold your actions and think.
The Moonsilver Daiklave, Hurricane (yes i know it's a pretty lame name but i had nothing cool in mind), on the other hand (no pun intended) is representing the Emotional Side, the desire to act on the spot, it's justice at all cost.
Each sword is embededd with a Heartstone of the opposite Emotional State (Jewel of the flying Heart and Jewel of the Steady Spirit) - this was done both for Thematic Balancing Reason and for Stat Twinkery to bring both Swords to be the same - minus the Rate 6/5 they are the same.
(*)- Jewel of the Steady Spirit does the same as Jewel of the flying heart just based on Temperance and adds one to Defense instead of Accuracy

Comboes
- Brothers in Arms - Golden Essence Block, Shadow Over Water, Solar Counter Attack - Basic Combo - Just as sandan is about to get struck, The Calm Before the Storm Jumps in a blink of an eye to meet his opponent blow, for one moment it seems as if time is standing still, everything is quiet, and then as swiftly as everything has began, Hurricane Jumps ahead to Slash Sandan's Opponent where he stands.
- Here Comes the Storm - Dual Slaying Stance, Excellent Strike, Hungry Tiger Technique, Shadow Over Water, Dipping Swallow Defense - Split Action Combo - Sandan's Anima is Intensified to it's Extreme, The Calm Before The Storm Emitting Silvery-White Essence that swirls around Sandan in great speed like a Tempest, Deflecting all incoming Blows, While Hurricane Lashes out to attack everything on it's path Golden Lightning of essence are Emmited from the inside of the Tempest.
Basically those two Comboes could be incorporated into one bigger combo and save some xp points, as most charms are reflexives, but i decided to devide it anyway.
Combat Tactic - Depending on opposition in most cases he'll put up Two Swords Technique and Abort to it's increased parry, while utilizing Either Brothers in arms Combo or even Ready in Eight Directions (mainly against Extras). One on One - his Daiklave innate Sun&Moon along with Brothers in arms combo (for defense purpose) is decent enough. Against Multiple tougher opponents or against a Soak beast it's gonna be a split action using Here Comes the Storm Combo.
All in all a pretty direct fight on his part relaying on Strong defenses and attacks, but lacking any Perfect defense or a soak Charm he could be in alot of trouble against some opponents - getting some of those charms would move him up the food chain no doubt but i'm pretty happy with him being well rounded.
Total Xp Spent - ~180
