Month of Resplendent Air

  • 3rd : The Vestal’s agents catch up with Selina and Moon. Selina fights evenly with Kanti. Selina opens her mind to her Malfean. He pours forth, and terrifies Kanti into submission. Moon kills Kiri. Fiona tries to help Kanti, but is just as helpless before Selina. Selina and Moon take Kanti and Fiona prisioner. Moon decides that they should head for the Boil to hide.

    The preparations for the first strike in Whiteshield are completed. Alex talks with Vorpal, her mask cracks, and the prince holds her frail self in his arms. Cael asks Alexsei about Sidereals. Alexsei tells him much, sparking memories of the First Age – and the Usurpation. He remembers being killed by Alexsei. It is too much, too fast, and Cael suffers a shock. Ryshassa resces his mind from the confusion. Selina meets Vorpal on the dreamscape. She discovers Vorpal is a virgin. Vorpal discovers about Selina’s defilement.

    Iselsis begins to realise she cannot remember Whisper, and begins to get suspicious. She sinks into depression and decides to leave Windia on account of the Acolyte’s words.
  • 5th On the Whiteshield border, the Circle prepares to raid the White Forts near Spire. The Prophet of the Ashen book comes with Bright Feathers to the Zephyr, and his words erode Cael’s faith in his allies. Gennadi appears to help Cael, and the Prophet disappears.

    Rain of Unspoken Words is sent by the Lover to aid the Dark Angel. She fucks her helper, the Day Caste Feral Shadow of Azure and Mauve senseless, and drags him to Whiteshield.

    Faina meets Iselsis and convinces her to stay in Windia. She gives Iselsis the mission of shadowing, befriending, and killing her sister if she became a threat. Iselsis accepts.
  • 6th : Alexander, Alexsei and Ryshassa strike at one of the White Forts. Ryshassa is shaken by the strike of undead children, and tries to stop Alexsei. Alexsei lays all to rest. Alexsei is nearly killed by a corrupted Dragon-Blooded, but saved by Ryshassa. Alexander kills a live human for the first time. Vorpal and Valencia strike at the second Fort. Valencia fights Shield-Spirits corrupted by the Prophet, and Vorpal takes the mercenary Dragon-Blooded Cloud in Dawn prisioner.

    Iselsis comes to the Zephyr, along with Gennadi, paranoid about Sidereals. Tempers flare. As Gennadi kisses Iselsis’ hand, a demonic reactions happens between them. Gennadi receives the invitation to meet his former love in Windia. Rain spells Feral to go seek and fight Deathknights recklessly, and leaves him to die.

    The Child of Wyld Days meets Sword of Azure, who changes her indentity to Relentless Prism. One of the few suriving Raksha from Whiteshield, she decides to go with the Child, and become her teacher.
  • 8th : Kanti regrets what she did to Fiona, and heals her mind from the crushing pressure of the Vestal. Moon wakes up, hung over, and takes Kanti to the Clock Tower to dance. Kanti dances, melting Moon and Selina; They decide to protect Kanti. Selina shows Kanti her own scar, and Moon holds them both. Due to Rain’s influence, Feral attacks the General recklessly – the General defeats him and takes him prisioner. They see animas on the sky, and hurry to see what happened. Selina and Moon see the Army of Blood and Fire.

    Back to the Boil, Selina meets Rain, who says she is there with the Lover to tag along. The General comes to town, taking more prisioners to take away. Fiona takes the cloak of a Thaumathurge that used to be Vivian’s friend. Selina tells everyone to lay low while the General is in town. Moon decides to stop running, and makes the decision of raising the city against its invaders. He rushes to meet Father of Crows. Selina tries to stop him, but he convinces her to side with him.

    Moon tries to make Father of Crows rise the Boil’s underworld. His unstable mind breaks and he nearly kills Selina and Moon. They make him back off, and he weaves a glamour that makes all think Moon is Father of Crows. The General’s War Nemessaries attack the House of Heavenly Pleasures, and Rain tries to camouflag it, but ends up turning the whole place into a Yozi temple. Kanti beats back the attackers, and they all rush to the basement, where Selina summons a Jokun that opens a tunnel to Snow Owl Resting, the home of Iron Tears, the City Father. With the support of crime, Moon tries to get the support of Gods. They arrive at the Snow Owl, He pleads to Iron Tears. Kanti offers him her body. Selina sends a message to Vorpal requesting her assisstance. The General’s forces torch the Heaven House. Selina throws all of Void’s lust in the room, swaying Iron Tears with her body. Kanti wishes to come with her, but Moon forbids her, angry. Rain begins to hate Selina, for being made to be so attracted to Creation. Kanti and Fiona run together to let loose of that lust. Rain nudges Iron Tears’ mind to help the decision. Moon goes tell the gangs to spread the word of revolution and call the lords of criminal factions together. Selina sleeps with Iron Tears to seal their bargain. The Smiling Lover appears.

    The General leaves the city to the prision, and calls the Parishioner, the prision’s master torturer, to root out Selina and Moon.

    Alexsei and Ryshassa support each other to overcome Alexsei’s near-death experience, and train to prevent accidents like that from ever happening again. Vorpal trains. Cael comes back to the camp, still shaken by the Prophet. He meets Vorpal, and they interrogate Cloud in Dawn, making him swear to serve the Circle. Later, Vorpal sends Selina a message, and decides her and Alex will go to the Boil to help in the revolution. Vorpal and Valencia bicker.

    Iselsis writes a letter for her brother filled with emotional content, warning him of Sidereals, and asking for his help. She handles it to Faina to delivering. They dance. Iselsis meets Gennadi, and makes a deal to help each other out of mutual enlightened self-interest.
  • 9th : Cael leaves Alex and Vorpal in the outskirts of Whiteshield. He works his magic on the Windian army, making it tenfold more efficient. Gennadi walks into Alexsei and Ryshassa having sex, embarassing and confusing them. Alex and Vorpal liberate the small village of Ailill. Alex raises its populace. Vorpal breaks into tears in Alex's arms. Alex and Vorpal have their first night together.

    Moon meets with the Boil’s Crimelords, and makes sure they know that insurrection will begin. Selina decides to sleep with Kanti and Fiona, becoming their mistress, but is struck by Malfean displeasure. The Smiling Lover tries to get Selina as one of her girls. Rain betrays the rebels, placing a great sign outside of the Snow Owl warning the dead, and spelling Iron Tears to become a selfih creature. Moon returns, and argues with Iron Tears in his armory. Kanti takes Iron Tears aside, and tears her heart out, healing him of Rain’s glamour convincing him to side not for power or lust. Moon revokes the flesh-arrangement. They meet Exceedingly Sublime Opal, who devises a device that will pretend to be Selina. Selina pretends to be chained by Iron Tears as he meets the dead emissaries, and promises to deliver Selina the next day. He learns the Parishioner is in town. Kanti is terrified.

    The Parishioner sets a field against magic going in or out of it on the Boil.

    Moon goes get Moonsilver for Opal’s device, and Father of Crows punishes him by carving it out of his own Exaltation, ripping his hybrid form off. Nathaniel Barr, the Father of Crows’ right hand, casts his lot with the Parishioner. Kodak gets a deal with the Parishioner for the death of Simma Siray. Black Avian fghts for the right to kill the Dark Angel with Marika.

    Fiona asks Selina to teach her combat magic. Opal makes the artifact.
  • 11th : The rebellion in the Boil ends. Vorpal meets Kanti, who's terrified of her. Iselsis saves a girl named Acelia, fights with a Nemessary sent by the Acolyte, and keeps the girl close as her helper. After the meeting with the princesses of passion and pain, Opal feels vulnerable, and lays with Kanti, seeking warmth. Opal discovers one of the Demon's staves absorbed part of Ecstasy's essence. Days meets up with her messenger, Snow Sorrel, and the Thorn she drank the courage of, Mei of Emerald. They become her thralls. Moon is recovered from Eidolon's remains, almost dead. All the Exalted are taken to a Manse in highlane to rest after the long fight.

    Cael announces a party for the next evening, to gather the great Exalted of the army in the Zephyr, to socialize before the battles. Millia talks with Cael about the trip to the Great Forks, and threatens him if he ever breaks Anne's heart. Gennadi sets it up with Ryshassa to heal him after he lets Shaliya drink of his blood. He does so, asking Sandara to go call the healer. Sandara is terrified by the blood. Gennadi watches Sandara's prayers, telling her why he is there , and preparing her for the upcoming party with a dress of green flame.
  • 12th : The Exalted leaders of the rebellion meet. Iron Tears reveals just how badly the Boil has been hurt. The armies and civils of the city broken, its organized crime pretty much non-existent. Alexander and Vorpal meet Kanti and Opal. Iron Tears gives his vouch of confidence for the Child of Wyld Days. Iron Tears mentions the Office of Unusual Occurrences, also known as 'The Spookies', as a possible alternative for help. Vorpal goes to meet with Captain Iria Lumanti to decide military matters. Selina follows her. Days creates a ring worthy of a king out of thin air and chaos, and gifts Alex with it.

    Selina, Vorpal and Iria talk about the current state of the Boil, and come up with a plan for its defense. Alexander walks around the Boil, taking in the image of devastation. He returns to the Manse and talks with Kanti, who confuses and entices him, and hears the story of the Viridian Radiance Style. He later talks with Moon, who opens his eyes to how dirty, grim and harsh the Boil is, to how much his family had left the place to rot. Alex loses control. He calms down, and gets Moon to tell his story, learning who and what is Seventh Moon.

    Opal goes to the place Niremar fell, where a Demesne was forming with the essence of fire and fear, all the essence stored there, and previous geomantic predispositions. With the help of Ecstasy's essence within the staff, she makes it be. Days ambushes her. They bicker, and cooperate to create the new Manse - Opal uses her geomantic prowess to cap the Demesne, and uses Days' sexual drive to create lewd statues that will properly channel Ecstasy's spirit, the heart of the new Manse. Days goes to meet Kanti, who is very wary of her, and Iron Tears appears, offering Kanti to go take shelter in heaven with the Smiling Lover. Kanti refuses. Days leaves with Iron Tears to his Sanctum, and engages on heavy duty snugglebunnies with the god.

    Alexander picks Vorpal up and flies with her, speaking of his dream to reunite the country... but Selina follows them, and nearly attacks them in jealously, flaring in lust to ensnare both Vorpal, who kisses her, pushing Alex in an embrace with the Abyssals. Moon meets the pack, and sees the ones that have been hurt and lost... Kinny, his second in command, tells him he will leave with the Smiling Lover to heaven, now that he has been blessed by her. Hanna, now Exalted, tells Moon she is on his level, and lays with him. Kanti and Fiona meet up and go help the Eir Society of Alchemy's clinic, spending the afternoon helping the wounded. Fiona meets Days on her way out, all burnt from laying with Iron Tears, and heals her... what almost becomes something else entirely. Before they actually lay with each other, Selina cuts in protectively and sends the Faerie on its way.

    Opal salvages the Snow Owl Resting, by creating a tree of crystal where it used to be, capping its Manse. All of the Boil can see the gargantuan tree of crystal shining with ruby fruits in the sunset. Kanti returns from the Eir Society, and tries to heal Moon, to no avail. Moon holds her close. Vorpal and Selina go to Iria's house, and try their dresses for the party. Iria fancies Selina. Selina becomes even more protective of Vorpal. Vorpal returns, meeting an Alex still affected by Selina's aura of lust, and their lovemaking makes the Manse tremble. Selina meets Opal on the way back, and talks about the First Age, commissioning a certain naughty artifact. She later meets the wounded Seventh Moon in his bath, and talks about corrupting Iria.

    During the night, the Lover appears to Vorpal, held on a pond of ice-cold water, letting wax fall over her body and painting on her with blood, telling her the story of her former incarnation, Sati, as a cautionary tale to not fall in love. She also appears in Selina's dreams, and tells her that she is in charge now, and the Pale Angel answers to her.

    Cael throws a party on the Quicksilver Zephyr for all the high eschelon of the Windians. Alexsei, Ryshassa and Gennadi play wonderful tunes, and Alexsei befriends with prince Cedric. Gennadi leaves to meet a goddess who wishes a report on Alexsei, and ends up ambushed and played with by Tahira. Cian Huang appears in the party and warns Cael that She Who Cuts the Binds, a goddess of freedom created by heaven to kill Cael is about to be deployed in response to the Bind's awakening. Tahira leaves. Alexsei and Gennadi discuss her intentions.
  • 14th : Gennadi comes to the Windian camp and warns Valencia, who mobilizes her troops, and learns the General has already begun to march expecting to catch her unaware. Acelia, Selina, Vorpal, Fiona Iselsis and Opal decide to go to Spire to help Valencia, leaving Alexander, Kanti and Moon to protect the Boil. Fiona destroys the Parishioner's magical wall before teleporting her group out of the Boil. She stops at a hot spring to recharge her essence and relax. Gennadi stumbles at the hot spring, guided by fate back to the angels, and tells them the warning has been given. He manages to escape peeking at them all alive.

    The Child of Wyld Days sees the prision on the Wyld outside of the Boil, meets Bright Feathers and Merun, and returns to the Chapel's of Liar's Ice, getting the help of Strifemaster Gaul on the war, arguing with Festival, and getting presents for all the Exalted. Shaliya comes to Kanti, coming to terms with her scars, and drinking of her blood. Moon oversees Hanna's training by Kanti. Alex decides to take Kanti to swear fealty to him with Iron Tears as a witness.

    Obsidian comes with the Boil with the enforcing detachment of the Dead Hand in order to 'pacify' it, breaking down the city's gates. Kanti and Alex stand against them alone, in a battle that shook the Boil, destroying the vicinity of its gates, and as the Child of Wyld Days came to help them, Obsidian channelled too much of the shock downwards, breaking the ground and falling to the darkness beneath the Boil. Iron Tears has the Spookies clean it up and seal the hole. Lacraia attacks and nearly kills Seventh Moon, stopped at the last moment by Allistair and Melantha. She leaves believing she did kill him. Before he loses consciousness near death, he forms a rapport with her. Days gifts Alex with a halo, and Kanti with a dress and fans for dancing.

    Fiona teleports the group to Spire just as the armies begin their engagement outside its walls. The General breaks the enemy's morale, but the Pale Angel counters it. The Exalted engage the battle with the General's forces. Ryshassa sings to stop the effect of the enemy's chanting on her armies. Selina destroy their leviathans, with the help of Iselsis, Vorpal and Alexsei, who work together to bring silence to the battlefield and destroy all of their airbone war machines in one fell swoop. Iron Whisper tries to stop Ryshassa from singing, but Cael quickly cripples her, letting her go. Brael Ir creates great trees and rushes to the offensive, pushing Iselsis to her limit, as Gennadi comes to the rescue just as the giant wolf, Whiro, is ready to crush them all, holding it with his chain. Alexsei and Vorpal take Murria down. The de Windia sisters pile up on Brael, leaving him close to death, taken out by Ice's hooves. Iselsis proceeds to wound Cathak Marr, before he retaliates and almost burns her to death. Alexsei spirits her away from Marr's grasp before he can finish her, and her sister comes down from the heavens, ripping fate and breaking Marr with raw chaos. Blight Lily is hurt by the Pale Angel, nearly killed. With Opal's help, against all expectations, Gennadi beats Whiro, the General's Behemoth.

    The General protects Blight Lily, covering for her to vanish under the ground, and offers Vorpal a cease fire, as he realises both armies are diminished, and whoever wins, the cost will be too great. She denies it, and all of the Exalted pile on the General. Weakened, the General absorbs Whiro's strength, receiving bestial traits and doubling his power, taking down Ice and nearly knocking out Vorpal. However, Vorpal, Alexsei and Selina manage to take him out. As his last act, the General breaks Spire's 'key', letting things loose inside the city. The Palace of Timeless Winters sprouts branches and towers, going from tower to castle, while a number of buildings simply come out of the ground and become part of the city's landscape, while raw essence suffuses it like a miasma... a heroic group of Windians led by Leonas du Mistlav goes into it and stops this release, with heavy casualties. Four beasts leave Spire in conflagration of Fire and Essence. Blight Lily comes out of the ground, where she hid, taking Brael Ir and disappearing before anyone notices the unconscious Dragon-Blooded or think of looking for her.

    The Pale Angel is drained, and falls into bleak despair, a vulture on the battlefield, looking for blood, too tired and drained to think of anything but the Void. Cael finds Iron Whisper, manages to break her faith, oath her not to strike at them ever again, and leaves her be, spending the night with a river spirit. Iselsis has strange, prophetic dreams where she remembers her past and has her subconcious urge her to remember something, that will change everything. But right before the demon inside her takes her over and destroys her soul, Ryshassa pushes her off those depths and back to the conscious world. Selina holds her tightly. Restless, Alexander talks with Kanti late at night, learning that she does not sleep, that she loves the Vestal, and lets himself be talked into letting out his frustrations on her body.
  • 15th : Ryshassa proceeds to heal all those she can. A funeral pyre is made for the dead in the battle of Spire, a funeral held by Alexsei Krauser. Selina, Acelia, Iselsis and Alexsei talk and fight during this funeral, as Iselsis finally snaps with Selina about her darkness and the killing of their parents. Tasya of the Spookies comes to Alex’s presence to deliver a report, and the Prince ]]decides for himself and Kanti to aid the Spookies in the hunt of a demon. One who hides himself into the skin of the deceased. They meet Elciarde and Noel, the Team C of the Spookies, and manage to locate and destroy the demon – but Tasya is seriously wounded, saved from horrible wounds by Kanti’s healing touch.

    In Yu-Shan, at the Crimson Panoply of Victory, Vengeful Sky is called to the office of Agate Ascension, and ordered to serve as a reinforcement for the war against the Bishop. Sky arrives at Spire, receiving a tour from Gennadi to meet the Exalted, seeing everything from a nightmarish perspective. Eventually, Spire comes under heavy attack, and as night falls, he meets Ten Thousand Virtues. Deniying his offer, Sky wakes up in Agate's office, passing the vision, a test to see if he was ready for the horrors he would find.
  • 16th : Elizabeth Holysword, the Blood Angel returns to Whiteshield with her Moonshadow Abyssal mentor, the Shadow Lion. She sees Whiteshield, shocked. They are ambushed by the Shade Goblins of Ariel, but Elizabeth makes short work of them all, leaving towards Spire. The Winlandians begin a relief effort on Spire, trying to save all they can in the areas burnt by its unfurling and the beast's flight. An emergency clinic is set up, staffed by human doctors and White Lilies, Wood Elementals of Healing. Kanti, Fiona and Ryshassa move to it, where they spend most of their days. Fiona befriends Anne, and begins helping Cael to teach her how to read, reading bedtime stories to Anne. Alex and Kanti take Tasya to a Hot Spring, the Steam-Born Dreams, on Highlane, so Kanti can take away what is left of her pain. A massage goes wrong, making Tasya go home ashamed, and Kanti and Alex to feel horrible for it...
  • 17th : Gennadi brings Opal breakfast, and talk to her about going to heaven, and trusting the Exalted. The Quicksilver Zephyr comes to the Boil. Cael meets the Child of Wyld Days, and gets Days green with envy. Ryshassa heals Moon completely. Ryshassa attempts to heal Kanti, but it backfires horribly, and she is nearly imprisioned by the Vestal. Ryshassa and Cael go meet the Spookies. Selina meets Fiona as she practices sorcery, and they talk about relationships. Fiona, Alexsei, Opal and Leonas walk into the Spire, activating its First Age functions, ascertaining it is not dangerous anymore. Elizabeth Holysword saves a squadron of Royal Guards, the Silverhawks. All Bloody Hands mysteriously disappear from the Boil.
  • 18th : The Zephyr returns to Spire, with the Boil group on board. Cael talks Alex into bondage. Vorpal and Alex meet again, and he tells her she is pure as snow, despite all her curses. The Windians begin to relocate to Spire. Days distributes her gifts to everyone else, a clear notebook to Opal, alcohol and a sentry wolf's head to Moon, spices of ecstasy, terror and awe to Selina, and a nightgown to Vorpal. Selina and Alex fight over who will see Vorpal on her nightgown first. Days meets Gennadi later on, to give his gifts, appleseed drinks and Wyld's version of the kama sutra. All Bloody Hands - spirits of murder - of Whiteshield begin to convene on the Boil.
  • 20th : Alexsei spends some time with Cedric, entertaining the boy, and gifting him. Gennadi comes in, and both Sidereals talk about their long-term plans, which coincide in that both intend to visit Heaven soon enough. Cael walks into one of Fiona's reading sessions to Anne, telling her that the time to be taken to the school on Great Forks is coming. Anne mentions how her family, her whole village, never got proper funerals, as they were razed by the Celebrant. Cael takes Anne to Alexsei so respects can be paid for Anne's family.

    Seventh Moon walks the streets of Spire, saving a few lives, meeting Fiona, and getting the help of an heroic old man - the same one he had seen on Spire before, finding out he had been a hero of Whiteshield, broken by the General... and now whole, again. He gives Moon his thanks for rousing the spark of heroism in him once again. Moon is called to the Temple of A Thousand Tears by the Northern Goddess of Rain, Levana, who tells him much about his former incarnation - Ofaniel, the Moon-Angel, his greatness, his love, and his weapon, Silent Dream.

    Gennadi introduces Opal to Shaliya and Sandara. Selina intercepts Kanti in the halls of the Palace of Timeless Winters, asking her all that Alexander has been up to, and tells her not to corrupt him with games of vice and degradation. Cael walks in this conversation, and comes to a compromise with more leeway, in which they would all watch over the Prince. Gennadi comes to ascertain the Pale Angel is not a threat to him and be in good terms with her, bringing chocolates! Selina walks in and demands chocolates.

    Valencia leaves to coordinate strategy with Iria on the Boil, and serve as its garrisson.
  • 21st : Cael goes out for a walk, feeling the essence flows and the flows of organizations on Spire. He ends up meeting Cloud in Dawn and stumbling on an strange, fungus-like insectoid creature attacking siblings. After saving them, Cloud discovers a building where strange fungal vines mutated humans into such creatures, by mean of exaling smoke, inhaled like natural opium. Cael saves most victims and calls the Winlandian Forces to destroy it, what is accomplished by Dorian Tierney's lighting. Ryshassa heals most humans affected by the fungus. Cael goes back to the Zephyr, and to bed with Cloud after a day of friendly banter with him. Ryshassa goes meet Vorpal , to report to her about those strange happenings, discovering Spire's secret is oathed away.

    Selina raids a basement full of party costumes together with Iselsis, picking a showgirl outfit for herself. The sisters come to a little understanding. Later, she goes to meet Gennadi on a roman bathouse, dressed in her showgirl outfit. Selina and Gennadi talk about their plans and who each can and cannot touch. All seems peaceful, however, Tahira appears before them, bickering with Selina, as the three of them unleash their strongest lust-controlling charms on one another. Tahira sees something unsettling in Gennadi at that moment, and fades away, shocked. Selina feels humilliated by Tahira and Gennadi's words, and walks away. Child of Wyld Days meets the humilliated Dark Angel on the streets of Spire, and they manage to finally come to terms with one another.
  • 22nd : Alex goes talk to Cael about his love life and their many challenges. Iselsis talks to Acelia and finds a haunt in a school where the rebels of Spire hid, and where they got tortured to death. She rushes in, helped by Dorian Tierney to place them to rest. She destroys the spirit that feasted on the echoes of their suffering, a Calabim, and saves the two survivors of the rebellion, and the torture. Iselsis makes the decision to return to Winlandia and get the bulk of their army to come and destroy the dead.

    The Prince flies off into the city after the talk, confused, deep in thought. Selina joins him, and both talk about Kanti, Vorpal, love and corruption. Selina teaches Alexander about corruption, temptation, and how to avoid it by laying with him. Later, after Kanti's shift at the clinic, Alex gifts her fancy lingerie.

    Alexsei meets up with Vorpal, and Abyssal and Sidereal talk about life, death, and dark stars. Ryshassa and Alexsei meet on the Palace of Timeless Winters, but before they manage to get some time alone, Iselsis comes in, to invite them to the circle's 'watchers' together with Seventh Moon and the Dark Angel. They talk about their lives, loyalties, and feelings.
  • 26th : Alexsei walks in heaven, remembering old times, feeling time pass strangely as he contemplates Heaven’s lights. Gennadi returns to the Cerulean Lute of Harmony, where information on the Northern War, its champions and relationships is a valuable commodity, and goes see Stolen Sunsets... with whom he sets a bet on a competition for Kanti’s very soul. Kanti and Ryshassa get together, talking about their lives and partners, and the firebird discovers the belladonna’s most scandalous secrets...

    Vorpal wakes up angry with Selina, and both nearly fight. Vorpal goes meet with deSiri, but gets stood up. She returns to the Inn... where deSiri comes to meet her, and reveals the Prophet of the Ashen Book has set an unthinkable bounty on the Angels and their allies, meaning all bounty hunters - and likely, anyone able to fight - in Amber Post will be gunning for them. The first is Ki-Kai-Kaine, a member of the Firebrands, a mercenary gang deSiri had kicked out of Amber Post, who tries to kill the Pale Angel and deSiri with a firedust grenade - but it is deflected by the Pale Angel, who makes short work of him. Vorpal comes up with the idea to set up a tournament in Amber Post - those who take out the Angels receive the reward promised plus an extra fortune, those who lose, become part of their army. The captain believes the bets alone would keep Amber Post happy, but there is a problem... that of getting to the slaver fortress from the Inn they are in, with a reward on their heads!

    A black figure, Sullivan, fills the inn with gas. The Angels rush outside, trying to evade the mercenaries, where Bronze Butterfly taunts the Dark Angel. That sparkles an argument between the Angels, which freezes everything, as no creature dares to interrupt such clash of words. The Pale Angel begins to take prisioners. Bronze Butterfly strikes again, prompting Selina to pick Vorpal and flies to Amber Post. Butterfly intercepts her, however, making her drop the Pale Angel, as both the Butterfly and Selina fight on the offices of Amber Post. Selina beats Bronze Butterfly, and offers to become her teacher. Selina discovers Melmoth, a salt god she had crossed before, is about, sponsoring Bronze Butterfly and wishing the Dark Angel's head.

    On the streets, Vorpal meets the Green Shade, and gets thrown in a world of her own nightmares and self-doubts, showing her the brigade, her teacher and her mother. She snaps out of it and rushes to kill the Shade, saved at the last moment by Aghar, the Son of Giants. Sullivan poisons Selina, and Ellena appears to help... but she happens to be in league with Sullivan, and both leave Selina completely helpless. She is saved by the timely intervention of Sheeana, goddess of assassins, her teacher in the trade. Selina kills Sullivan, but forgives Ellena, who starts to follow her out of gratitude and regret. The Angels meet again, each flanked by their respective underlings. The Angels meet Arguin Cesta, seneschal of Amber Post, who is angry about the ruckus, but they manage to sell him into the idea of the tournament.

    Cael manages to exorcise the Virdynn, Shara, out of Millia. Shara is entangled on Millia's magic, however, and she barely manages to get out alive, leaving Millia with feline features, and in coma. Cael offers Shara to become the cat of the Zephyr... and she agrees. Cael discovers that Millia is a child of Cetari, city father of Whiteshield, and that her eyes are two mighty weapons. Cael goes see the doctor Sayim Oak-Eyes to help Millia, and in his clinic, both see the seer Nabu has killed himself... writing prophecies about Cael and doom upon the walls of his chamber. Sayim cares for Millia, and she finally opens her eyes. Cael takes all of them to the Empyrean Stair, the Holysword Manse in the Great Forks.

    Upon arriving there, they are ambushed by Dayshield’s Elite, who are intent on acting upon orders to extinguish the Holysword bloodline. Cael manages to stay their hand, and goes to Dayshield herself to ask the pacifist goddess to stop this senseless act. He is shocked to hear the reason for her anger, the actions of Elizabeth Holysword, but manages to stay her blade and keep the children safe. He comes back to see Cedric distraught with the absence of his sister, and standing on a garden of raw emotions, convinces the prince to smile and look foward. He spends the night in the Stair.
  • 28th : Cael takes Shara to a restaurant, and asks her to spy on the Hanslanti comitive on the Great Forks. She does so, learning all they are up to. Cael returns to the Zephyr, talks with Calisara, and eventually, receives a visit from Cian Huang, who schools him in the way of the air, tells him much of the world’s problems, and introduces him to the Sidereal twins, Jade Silk and Golden Fox.
