History

Benjan was a caravan guard for the Guild in the East, travelling through the Hundred Kingdoms. Born in Nexus, he grew up in the Riverlands, and drifted into the caravan guards due to his skill at fighting. However, he never really had any purpose in life; instead, he just found himself drifting on the tide, content to let the world resolve itself without him.
All that changed one day, when the caravan began to trade in slaves. Benjan was extremely uncomfortable with the slaves, and one woman in particular caught his eye, her disdainful expression filling him with shame. One night, Benjan broke into the caravan and freed the slaves, leading them out to safety. The caravan master, enraged, sent pursuit, and Benjan found himself fighting alongside the slaves to save them. As he did so, he felt the Unconquered Sun's Glory, and Exalted.
Benjan and the former slaves, including Adira, became a group of bandits, preying only on slave caravans. Eventually, their actions took them to Korthos, where they met up with Mavren. Intrigued by this bold Solar, Benjan and his soldeirs swore themselves to the Zenith's cause, and fought to put him on the throne. Now, they hope to forge Korthos into a better nation.
Benjan quietly loves Adira, but refuses to act on his love, not considering himself worthy of her. Besides, he knows that she does not love him in return.
