FaceBackground
The original rules for Face I found unusually byzantine and not worth bothering with in a real game, so I converted it to a background.
The descriptions of each level of Face remains the same, so I'm not going to retype them. A Lunar can loose effective face, but since it is now a background he or she should always be presented with the opportunity to work back up to her purchased level. Increasing Face should be a story event--as increasing most backgrounds are. Unless circumstances are exceptional, a starting Lunar will rarely have Face higher than 3.
Only the Silver Pact actively uses Face, though Brotherhood Lunars are considered Face o when they interact with Pact Lunars.
x--Urrach-ya: What have you done to be scorned so?
o Nain-ya: All Pact Lunars begin at this rank.
oo Uf-ya: Lunars at this rank should be treated with some respect--there is no immediate mechanical bonus, but those of lower rank, and Pact-involved Barbarians will not go out of their way to offend her.
ooo Ikth-ya: Gain an additional die for all social dealings with Pact-involved barbarians, and 1 with any other Lunar.
oooo Murr-ya: +2 dice for all social dealings with Pact-involved barbarians, and 2 with any other Lunar.
ooooo Shahan-ya: +3 dice for all social dealings with Pact-involved barbarians, and 3 with any other Lunar. Your words are practically law. Only beasts of the First Age and truly formidable Heroes of the Second Age are ranked this high.
