Endless Chase - We're going with or without you, Alaethis. We will not leave our companion to rot away within his own mind.

Endless Chase - You might have been spared his fate, but I have memoires of what it was like. I would rather die than have him suffer if I have a chance to free him. Zen is with me on this, and Ruby and Pathian have agreed to help as well. I have seen how you look at Zen. She is afraid, but determined She would very much like your assistance in this.
Alaethis - *shakes head* I cannot. One man, even one such as him, does not matter against the fate of all of Luna's Chosen.
Endless Chase - Alaethis...I...I do not see how open war with the Realm will help our people. Though I do not fully agree with Maylin on her view, I do realize that open warefare is not the solution to this porblem. In any case, there is not enough strength in the few hundred Lunars to match the might of tens of thousands of Dragonlings.
It is in the souls of the people that the world will be made safe from the wyld. It will be in the hearts of the people that the determination to stand against the wyld will be found. It will be in the efforts of the people that the wyld will be pushed back from our borders. A few exalts are not enough to seal them away. If we were, it would have been done.
Alaethis - All these things are the job of the Exalted. As the strong buck in the herd defends against predators, so do we defend Creation.
Endless Chase - I have seen as much determination and will to life in a man that tried to fight for his freedom, with nothing but the word of his captor to say that he would go free. I have seen as great a strenght as any in these people. All they need to do now is realize their potential.
Alaethis - Their potential is not enough.
Endless Chase - You underestimate them.
Alaethis - Mortals are not strong enough to defend Creation. Not even the Dragon-Blooded are strong enough.
Endless Chase - I can only hope that you see that the situation at hand is nothing more than a stalemate, with blood from both sides as the only interludes. A real solution can only be found elsewhere, and where else than the other people of this world.
Alaethis - The situation at hand is a retreat action. First the Shogunate, wracked with strife and torn by feuding. They couldn't stand against the Contagion, and it destroyed them and almost half of Creation...just gone to the Wyld. Then the Realm, and you know what happened to it. Just an empty shell now, and soon it will collapse on itself again. Only the First Age could hold its own, and even it failed in the end.
Endless Chase - What is our purpose then, Alaethis? Can we face both the legions of the Realm and the advances of the Wyld? Are we strong enough for that?
Alaethis - With the Solars returned, we are strong enough for it. We have been preparing for centuries. Now is our time.
