Hunting the Secrets of the Depths</b>

Prerequisite Charms:: Tampering Detection Technique, Waves Scour the Beach Emulation

Deep within the ocean's heart many secrets and mysteries are kept. Those who understand the nature of the elemental sea can sift through its dark currents to retrieve a pearl of knowledge. Through use of this charm the Terrestrial can learn a single secret about a chosen target which can be an individual, organization, or event (such as a theft or murder) that he has some familiarity with. Reading comprehensive reports, questioning informed individuals, or performing more mundane investigation and research all constitute familiarity for this charm. Once activated, the Dragon Blooded rolls his perception + investigation + any applicable specialties against a difficulty assigned by the Story Teller. The Story Teller should base this difficulty on the Exalt's familiarity with the target, the number and scope of potential secrets, and how well these secrets are hidden. If the roll succeeds, the Exalt recieves some very clear insight into the nature of a secret chosen by the Story Teller. The Story Teller may wish to adjust the clarity of this insight based on the Exalt's degree of success. If the rolls fails, the investigator's attempt turns up fruitless. Botches should produce dangerously innacurate information. This charm may only be used once a month against any given target.
