Calrushan Support

Until the destruction of White Pines, the Calrushan legion had an excellent professional logistics corps, the Bureau of Military Supply as revived by Si Lu and Hotspur. However, the destruction of White Pines wiped out the headquarters office. Although the records and the materiel are still sound, the core of expertise has been badly damaged. It will probably take a season to rebuild; until then, the officials and laborers of the Bureau who were away from White Pines will have to take up the slack. They are supported by laborers and merchants from the rest of Calrushan Wood who are hired on a task-by-task basis. At the moment, there are about a thousand support personnel all told.

Inarian Legion

Inarian Support

The Inarian legion is backed up by about two thousand camp followers, porters, drivers, smiths, provisioners, cooks, slaves, servants, etc. None of them are officially under the command of the legion. The Inarians have the worst tooth-to-tail ratio of the army and will run into supply difficulties first. One of the Regent's priorities should probably be setting up a professional logistical corps, or extending the Calrushan one into Inaria.

Shanidarian Horde

Shanidarian Support

Tribes and clans. The nomads travel with their families, usually as one large group. Of the three elements, they have the smallest tooth-to-tail ratio (1 support: 5 fighters) because almost every adult is also a warrior. However, they're not going to be able to sustain extended campaigns outside their home plains without professsional logistical support, since they rely on living off the land, their herds, and plunder.
