Fated Children

a story of Dynastic children in the Age of Sorrows

My current campaign, Fated Children, is a story of three young dynasts in their second year of primary school. They are as of yet unexalted, but the players and I know it's soon to come. The quiet war fought by children on the playgrounds of their academies is a tiny mirror of the conflicts between the great Dynastic Houses, and prepares the youth of the Realm for the "real world."

[#Concept]

Three dynastic children begin their heroics in a Primary School Academy just west of Arjuf. We follow their adventures from the drama of Primary School to their Exaltation and beyond. What starts as a story of kids and their social games in school quickly escalates as the Dynastic Houses struggle over the throne in what quickly becomes a Realm Civil War.

Our Characters [#Characters]

  • Tepet Daramol Nahva
Already a young aristocrat at 10, Nahva prefers the social games of the Imperial bureaucracy to the prospect of serving in the legions. She has a commanding personality for her age, and is undoubtedly destined for greatness.
  • Sesus Arylas
A quiet disappointment to his parents, Arylas is convinced he's not going to exalt. He's never been excellent at any particular thing, and instead finds that his subtle ways aid him in controlling others without putting himself at risk. If he can't join the ranks of the Exalted, he may as well have enough powerful friends who can.
  • Cathak Dathas
Dathas is the out-there, wild one. He's got a fiery personality and an unhealthy disregard for his own safety. He's also extremely self-concious. What he's not though, is subtle. Dathas' strength is in the doing, and then the letting everyone know. Everyone knows.
Interestingly, Nahva's player is the one without previous roleplaying experience. She's played a bit of D&D, and loved the Forgotten Realms setting, but hasn't had a chance to really explore what Exalted is about. Interesting, because she's the one with the leadership character. Should be fun! -SeventhStar
