In the far North, on the cusp of reality where strange things blow on the chill winds, lies the Blizzard Fist Temple. This mighty palace, hewn into a great mountain of ice and made habitable by the considerable Essence flows that it directs, is now home to a growing force of dedicated martial artists known as the Disciples of the Blizzard Fist.
Founded little more than three decades ago by a disillusioned Air-aspected Immaculate Monk now known as Ice Devil, the first Disciple was the God-Blooded child of the founder and his air elemental wife, Snowstorm's Blossom. Finding his daughter's Essence to be weak, Ice Devil and Snowstorm's Blossom devised a new martial art which, in combination the boons granted her by her mother's powers, made her a potent combatant. Thus, Blizzard Fist Style was created, and Flying Snow was its first practitioner.
Each of the children of Ice Devil and Snowstorm's Blossom's children was put through the same rigorous training as Flying Snow. Some thrived and grew in power, even beyond that which the Blizzard Fist Style could impart. Others were broken by their father's merciless tasks and exercises. Those who survived and obeyed have grown up to form the core of the Disciples. Using the Blizzard Fist Temple as a base of operations, the largely teenaged Disciples began to subjugate the land, and they quickly achieved control of the surrounding area. Those of their subjects that were deemed most worthy were trained in the Blizzard Fist Style, although only those capable of channeling Essence were able to master its secrets.
Three years ago, the Disciples of the Blizzard Fist began to expand. Small bands of martial artists travelled the North, seeking out rival styles to challenge other martial arts schools and fighting techniques of all kinds. They met with unparalleled success, and the Blizzard Fist Style began to spread, absorbing other dojos until they were one of the most famous martial arts schools in the North. After their successes in the North, Ice Devil ordered his Disciples to continue moving southward, to prove the strength of Blizzard Fist Style in the rest of the world, and to attract new students to join the ever-growing army of the Disciples.
Notable Disciples include:
Flying Snow, now a fully grown woman and a master of the Blizzard Fist Style. No longer the favourite but still a potent force within the Disciples;
Tetsu the Iron, Ice Devil's third and most successful child. A fighter of some considerable prowess.
Mugai, a brilliant stratego from the Northern wastes. Despite being an ordinary mortal, his grasp of strategy of all kinds, from single combat to mass battle, is extraordinary.
Kazuo Gale-Cutter, the Blizzard Fist Style's new prodigy. Born in the South and brought up to study in the Blizzard Fist Temple, Kazuo mastered his Essence and the basics of the secret techniques of the style in an unprecedentedly short time. Some of his success might be attributed to his being Snowstorm's Blossom's favourite... a fact which might also have contributed to his being sent away from the temple to seek out more students and defeat more styles.
