The Bare Bones
The game started out as a rather simple and straight forward concept intended for a group of new players.
I was going for a bronze faction circle operating in the capital convention. This is intended to allow the characters to start out slowly in a fairly safe environment, get used to their powers and learn how to conceal their exalted natures where their elders can be on hand to cover up any guff ups. This will also offer them time to get used to the divine bureaucracy and one another’s characters.
Anyway like all sidereals they’re too valuable to sit of the shelf for any length of time and the assignments start getting doled out. Now this is where things get a little more complicated.
The characters are assigned to investigate and deal with a series of minor anomalies in the pattern of fate, unusually these are all occurring within the capital convection. The elders have attributed these temporary difficulties to increasing activity amongst the dragon blooded as the competition for the scarlet throne begin to heat up and the charms start a flying. The elders are of course far to busy to deal with these things themselves but expect that the youths can deal with it easily enough.
Now the anomalies themselves will of course turn out to part of an evil master plan in this case the plan of a fair folk noble who is attempting to accelerate the realms decline into open civil war. This is where things get complicated.

The agents of the fair folk noble are in fact slaves bought owned and licensed by the reputable house Cynis. The house has been buying slaves from the noble through a guilder intermediary for many years now are a very happy with the arrangement. All of their purchases are without exception exquisitely beautiful, polite and compliant. They display a wide verity of talents in the arts are well read and educated and are without fail utterly charming. As a result these slaves move through the circles of dragonblooded high society attending countless parties and other less formal affairs either rented out by the Cynis or sold to discerning collectors. The Cynis slave dealers have no idea how their contacts procure such fine specimens and don’t particularly care to ask suspecting something nefarious.
The truth of the matter is that the slaves are abducted from the fairfolks hunting grounds as youths and taken to the nobles stronghold. There they are reshaped through the subtle use to fae sorcery flesh moulded and shaped into whatever ideal the dynastic clients may desire and any will to resist torn from their minds. They spend their childhoods under the tutelage of the most talented of the nobles entertainers absorbing as much of their awesome talents as any mortal mind can.
Finally one last alteration takes place a powerful sorcery is worked about the slaves forging a mystical bond between them and their terrible mistress. It is through this bond the noble receives the reports of her agents and sends them orders as a result few beings are as well informed about the internal politics of the realm.
Throughout the empresses rein these agents have remained mostly dormant but now with the realm rulerless they have begun to move. Their actions are never overt as the discovery of one rests the destruction of the entire network and decades of work still there are effective. They strive as best they can to increase the tension between the dynastic houses. Across the realm trusted courtesans whisper in their lovers ears reminding them of subtle slights against them, entertainers tell stories of that reignite old hatreds and meticulous major-domos “lose” written appeals for alliance and peace.
All the while the sidereals become more frustrated and confused as all their plans to stabilise the situation in the realm come to naught and throw out numerous faults in the pattern of fate. Those the noble does not realise it she has a ready ally in the great curse. The inner circle of the bronze faction cannot conceive of anything like this taking place under their noses they know all, they see all. They are the secret masters of creation and so the idea of them missing something like this for decades of end well that just couldn’t happen now could it. As a result they’ve written the whole thing off as the result of the various dragon blooded houses trying to screw each other over and handed it all over to our young heroes to keep under control.
