Vanat sat on his great throne in the Chamber of the Deliberative. His eyes were closed as if in sleep or meditation and he did not move his body but for the steady rythm of his breathing. Nothing went on with Meru without him knowing and he knew the traitorous Terrestials and Sidereals would soon come for him. So he waited.

He knew he was in a disadvantagous position. Well chosen was this night, he did not have his weapons and items of power with him. Yet that in no way made him weak, and soon he would teach the impudent rebels why he was the ruler of Creation itself, the greatest and most powerful of all the Exalted. To one who could see essence his body was wrapped in layers of complex and frightening charms, empowering him as he waited.

The great doors swung open silently and a lone terrestial walked through and saw him. Brave or stupid but probably both he decided to try to attack Vanat on his own. He charged straight for him and Vanat locked eyes with him. The terrestial stumbled and stopped, unable to look away from his eyes. Vanat wielded his force of presence like a weapon, the lone terrestial starting to bleed from his nose and eyes before collapsing dead before the stairs to his throne. Vanat continued to wait.
