That the Gods were helpless and bound slaves to the Primordials was no great secret during the Time of Glory that preceeded the uprising of the Gods. Many of those races of mortals who existed during those early years suffered under the cruel whims of the Primordials. With the Gods closer and less cruel they naturally turned to worshipping them in actual devotion instead of the fearful words they offered up to the Primordials in Yu-Shan. The Dragonkings were one such race who worshipped the Unconquered Sun and they too suffered cruelties at the Ebon Dragon's hands while their patron remained helpless to intervene.
Their wisest and strongest set to forging a grand weapon that a champion might wield to strike down that monster. A spear of holy Obsidian and Orichalcum. A work of wonderous craftwork, during its entire construction a round the clock vigil of priests chanted holy scripture, chanting until they dropped dead onto for another to replace. Empowered with their sacrifice and the best works of the Dragonkings they eventually finished their weapon to present to their Champion.
They had made a mistake in their making though. They assumed that the Gods simply lacked the weapons to rise up and face them not realizing how fully they could not through a great Geas. Still when the weapon was refused by the Unconquered Sun and he revealed the nature of why he did not fight the Primordials they did not despair. Instead their greatest champion went to try and face down the Ebon Dragon alone. Though the spirit of the Dragonking was never in doubt neither was the result of the battle. She was slain and the Ebon Dragon had Oramus cast the weapon into the Outer Maze to be lost forever.
