Many weapons were forged in preparation for the Ursupation. Some designed to counter specific Solars and others designed to work for the Dragonblooded. One battle group that was not there for the initial ambush hunted the east for the Solar Exalted who escaped or simply were not at the dinner. One of their leaders bore the mighty Earth Binder which was sometimes called Wind's Bane for what it struck grew slow and heavy and was bound to the Earth and sleeping Pasiap.

The weapon never actually tasted the blood of a Solar or even a Lunar. It was however used against those holdouts of loyalists amongst the Dragonblooded and saw a lot of use putting down the minor rebellions and full scale wars that the Shogunate engaged in. It was most famously used in the duel between Screaming Cloud and Righteous Plume. That battle due real attention to it and earned it the name Wind's Bane in how it had grounded the famed Air Aspect warrior and all historians say was the key to his downfall. It also marked the beginning of a blood fued between two families of Dragonblood.

Their struggle culminated into a fatal and final showdown atop a mountain near what would become Greyfalls. Both groups, pushed on by the Dynastic charms and legacies of their ancestors, were in a final showdown while the world was being unmade around them as the Fae overran Creation's borders. One of the sides, records are not clear which, deployed a device or charm which turned the mountain into a short lived volcano. Fragmented records say that it was like the Fire Dragon Hesiesh had taken form there for a moment. The flames and eruption consumed both sides and diverted the path of one of the invading fae armies into the waiting arms of Lunars following the lead of Ingosh Silverclaws.

The short lived raging volcano did not destroy the weapon though. Thrown away it languished at the riverside until it was found by a farmer, sold to a scavanger lord(or stolen by) and was then sold to the 7th Legion. The family that sold it still lives in Lookshy and has for the last 600 years. The weapon lies in the hands of Gens Amilar now and has been with them since near the beginning of their Gens.

Made of White Jade with the plates bearing mantra's to Pasiap, the Elemental Dragon of Earth the weapon is flexible and though an armored weapon does not interfere with hand movement and the hand armored with this Smashfist can still pick up a weapon to fight if they want. It is designed to be worn on the right hand of someone.

The Earth Binder has several advantages worked into it. First of all anyone who picks it up can attune to it near instantly as a miscellaneous action. This was designed so that if its user was slain in combat against the Solars another could pick it up and use it in that very fight. The second feature is that anyone struck by it or who parries it finds themselves slowed down. Their movement rate decreases by 1 yard(to a maximum of halving their movement rate). Furthermore the Speed of their actions will slowly increase. The mechanic is after enough hits or parries against the weapon equal to the character's action speed then you increase the speed by one. This goes to a maximum speed of 6. This function works even if the Earth Binder is being used to hold another weapon, channeling its slowing power into each strike.

For example facing someone who uses a Jade Daiklaive. After 5 hits on them or attacks they parry the speed of their attacks with that Daiklaive is now 5 and any normally speed 5 actions they take are speed 6. Another 4 strikes(for a total of 9) would raise the speed of that Daiklaive to 6.

This weapon costs 6 motes to attune normally.
