- Back to [[[JesseLowe/Coramar/CalrushanWood]] | Calrushan Wood]]
Founded by refugees from the East who fled the area near the Noss Fens, Coramar is led by two women, [[[JesseLowe/Coramar/AnnaSpeaksWithBeasts]] | Anna Speaks-With-Beasts]] and [[[JesseLowe/Coramar/Mahela]] | Mahela]].
It is a stockaded town of about a thousand people surrounded by new farms. It's located a couple miles north of the edge of the wood, more-or-less along the Arkos River.
Coramar is still finding its identity, having only been founded a scant season ago. Many of its families are also new-forged, as widows and widowers from the refugees have married locals and either brought them into the town or went with them to their own towns and villages. Still, the leadership of Anna and Mahela has instilled a bit of structure in the town, backed up by the worship of the Unconquered Sun.
At present, Coramar is living off of herding and the kindness of the people of Calrushan Wood; with any luck, it will be a self-sustaining community in a few years. It already has a burgeoning basket-weaving industry, a skill the refugees brought from their old lands.
Militarily, Coramar is surprisingly tough for a town with so few adult males, the traditional source of warriors. The long march the refugees took hardened them, and no fewer than half the adults in the town are skilled with simple weapons such as spears and bows. A small militia trains weekly; it numbers about two hundred and is led by Mahela.
The Bureau of Crystalline Acumen has two agents in Coramar and considers it a solid ally of the Circle, if a weak one.
