General Background
Background and Goals
Background
A stateswoman of a small kingdom in the South East, she never quite seemed to be destined for greatness. Although not an incompetent, the long hours she spent could not quite prepare the country for the coming tumultuous war with its neighbor. Despite her best efforts, they simply had more troops, and better infrastructure. After a stinging loss, and the death of her best general, Glimmering Shard threw her advisers out of her war room and locked herself inside it. She spent hours studying the various armies positions, going through all the possible scenarios in her head. After the third day, her advisers and servants had begun to believe she had committed suicide, the door slammed open, right on an unfortunate servant sent to check on her. She strode out confidently, and handed her advisers the orders for her remaining men.
Over the next few weeks, the other nation was destabilized by an invasion launched by several of the neighboring barbarian tribes. Rather then consolidate their new holdings, they began pulling their invasion force back to defend their ancestral lands. Almost like clockwork, she retook her citadels. Then, rather then gang up on her enemies.. she united with them to repel the unwashed invaders, bringing the two countries together. By the time she'd left, they were well underway with the plans to unify the two kingdoms.
