After a few years of loyal service, he was attached to a Wyld Hunt as a rifleman to support a Dragon-Blooded Immaculate. It was his surprise shot that slayed the young Solar, a girl who couldn't have seen more than fifteen years pass.
The Cowboy felt remorse for his part in the slaying of a child and left the service of the Realm. That night, as he slept, rain poured through his tent and he dreamt over and over of the little girl screaming as her body burned in flames. He heard the voice of what could only be a Celestial God telling him that he was destined to do far greater things in Creation. As the sun rose on the horizon, he stepped out of his tent, a golden cirle burning on his forehead.
In the Scavenger Lands, he was picked up by the Cult of the Illuminated and trained to rescue and recruit newly exalted Solars.
