Callia, Mistress of the Sharktooth --CrownedSun
the Coral Archipelago is one of the largest havens of Pirates in the West, and it's capital of Azure consists of numerous establishments designed to cater to the daring souls who run under the states marquee. Some of these are run by the government itself, while others are set up by enterprising merchants eager to make a little money off the state's "navy". Others, like the Sharktooth, are a little girls dream disguised as an attempt to bring in money off bored sailors.
Callia has always wanted to join her brothers and countrymen on the open sea, crewing a elegant ship and joining ferocious battle against whomever should come across their path. Yet, the ways of the waves are not for women, and little Callia had no desire to join the Tya. So she spent childhood moments of freedom near the docks, gazing at ships as they sailed off into the distance and wishing she could be with them on their grand adventures. When she got older, youthful wellwishing was replaced by the next best thing: dating a sailor. Then another, and soon after yet another again. By the time Callia had earned her 30th year, she'd dated a fair segment of the cities sailing population both living and dead, and made something of a name for herself. That name pulled more than a few sailors toward the Sharktooth, when she opened it a few years.
The sea still runs in her veins, but the mistress and owner of a popular destination for sailors on leave is the closest she's been able to get to her dream. Funded with some of her own money and gifts from various admirers, the Sharktooth was begun largely as a place where Callia can sit and watch the young sailors drink, harass younger women, gamble, and enjoy themselves. She regales herself in their stories, and the occasional company of an older sea dog, and is mostly content.
