Hello, im a 23 year old Exalted player from northern sweden! Been playing in the same campaign with my group for almost 3 years now. Might just post some material here, sharing is nice eh?
This is an intro to my next campaign, ill just toss it in here, might add some more background to it later, we will see. NOTE: Very new to this Wiki stuff :)
INTRO:
The farmer adjusted himself in is homemade pinchair, it emitted an audible creak. The farmer gave this a thought and smiled, it was not the kind of creak that told one that the chair was soon breaking, it was the self-insuring creak that told the farmer he had made the chair himself, and thus would hold. Altough, directing his old eyes to the to combatants twentytwo yards from the portch upon where this chair and ofcourse also the farmer was situated, it would not suprise him if at the end, the chair would start to make the second form of creak before they where...done. He squinted as a gush of air smattered small cakes of dirt at his small farmhouse’s timbered walls, he switched the straw to the right side of his mouth, he did not know when his straw had started to lean towards the side of the warrior that looked as to be in an favourble position. His chair creaked again aswell as the timbered walls of his house as the earth gave of a quake. He was not worried about this house that his own, now gnarled and spotted hands, had built up twentytwo years ago. He knew that the winner would compensate for any property damage caused, non of them had said anything about it, but he knew as much, they where honourable men. The backdraft of a perticulary viscous swing suddenly splintered the farmers shoppingblock, sending his axe toppling over the grass, his straw shifted to the left side again. Six days, for six days these two had been at eachother, never resting, never lowering a daiklave under waistheight, the farmer remebered the day it had started, he had gotten up from his bed, but instead of doing as he usually did and fed the chickens he sat down on his porch and waited. After what could not have been more then one hour they came, one from the road in the direction of east, and the other from the direction of south, the small dirt road ran right past his house. They had stopped and looked at eachother, then in unison unsheated their daiklaves...
He was there just as Carp of Brazen Waters had told me, I looked into his deep brown eyes and we both readied our weapons, I noticed that he was easing into the Jin-Tar position when we both were suprised as the farmer on the porch stood up and said thus; “Kindly take your combat atleast a twentytwo yards from my house”. We both looked at the old man, but it was Lionmane Weatedge who answered him thus; “As you wish spirit of the earth” We paced sidelong til we had reached the accorded distance, none of us letting the eyelock wither. I watched as his muscles bent and twisted and his body transformed into the half Lion that had salughtered my men. With a roar he came charging against me, I saw in his eyes now that this being did not know what the Jin-Tar was, this being only knew how to fight, in essence combat in avatarism.
For six days i battled Jisto, the Lance of Rays. No opponent of mine had stood so long against me, I knew the fury of what I had done to his comrades in arms fueled him, but that was no great portion of his well of power, we where both warriors in this war and knew its rules, its ways and its prices. For six days our blades met, I cannot recall the last time this moonsilver daiklave struck a foundation strong orichalcum sister, I cannot, for it had been in one of my previous incarnnations and the memeory had not desided to surface yet. One question pressed on my mind during our clash, how had he known where I was, in these wartimes I never left tracks, how? It did not matter much to me though, it may have a graver importance underlying though, for some reason i knew this, but two warriors put such matters aside in combat. Seeing him here told me what had happened to my sons and daughters eight days ago. I had grieved over them what was proper for soldiers and then left them where they lay, slaughtered in their camp. We had both destroyed eachothers forces and now the Moon and the Sun fought against eachother, this should not be, how could it be? Suddenly something beckoned to me in the skies, so intense that even I, a master of warfare, had to look up, verily it was Mars, then I knew, and then I knew no more... The land was silent as the farmer saw the redstained mane topple of the giants shoulders and the winner cleaned of the blood with a swift swing of his golden blade. The warrior sheated his daiklave and walked towards the portch and uttered exausted thus; “Will thee required payment fo the block, oh guardian of these fields, upon which we battled just?” The farmer looked at the splintered shoppingblock and frowned, he spoke; “Many things break during a war Solar, though for this you shall not pay any price”. He got up, plucked up a barrel of seed and walked away towards a chickencoup. The warrior looked after him as the words “for this” echoed in his mind, then he continued upon the journey east...
This is my records of the event at the Riverwater Farm Upon Treshlands Folly. Ofcourse it is upon you Master to deside if this will have ever happened in the chronicles, now I must hasten as I am still being followed by something dark and sinister.
Yours in haste, Carp of Brazen Waters.
